    Citizen of Earth

What would happen if everyone was a just a citizen of Earth, like Benny? If countries had no borders and we could all freely migrate wherever we wanted, what would happen?

When we find another planet with life, this is a question that needs to be asked. Would space aliens sign a treaty with Russia to destroy the US? Or would we unite as one race?

Unless you have an outstanding warrant for nonpayment of a fine. Or would that be valid anymore?

I think the fine would still apply, but there would be a global reach for enforcement.

For the vast majority of human existence there were no borders, and in the long run no borders, walls, fences, visa quotas, ICE, or anything else will stop people from moving from where there is less to where there is more. The same is true for most animals, and most plants for that matter. In the short run it's not so simple. The best way to make people stay put is to make sure there is enough where they are, so they don't feel like they have to move.

Come on. The people who were already there felt they had a say in that. And the people who wanted to move in either won or lost. Shit that story IS human history.
