why does b of a want to know if I have dual citizenship?
They won't let me log in to my accounts without a popup asking if I have dual citizenship, and if so, which country.
I do, but why is it their business?

I've used it before but deleted.
Not foreign as far as B of A is concerned: born and live in the US, USD account, low balance, plus credit cards. Accounts have been open for 10+ years.
AFAICT they aren't targeting me specifically, they're just mining for more information. Google shows that others are getting this as well.
What I really want to know is could I get in trouble if I lie to them?

All of a sudden Bank of America is asking if I have dual citizenship in the U.S and another country. They have never asked that before. Why is the bank doing this?
Bankers are now asking new questions under threat of suspension of access to online banking.

You should have closed those accounts in 2008. BofA is the Death Star, followed closely by Wells.
I’ve never been asked anything like that in my life.
