Between or around Sugarbush & Stowe lodging options
Vermont mags.
I need help to find a good location (or locations) to hit both mountains between December 25th to 29th (4 nights).
It can be around each mountain or between two mountains' hotel/BB/Airbnb.
Me and my girlfriend are going to share a room (with two beds) or a small house.
(those who remember last year Jay incident, this is the same girl who lost her car key at the mountain. She's not allow to take her car to this trip)
We would like to keep it somewhere $150 per night and not further than 20-30 minute drive at the most.
What would be my options?

Find a place to stay in Waterbury. Stowe is right up the road and you can get to Sugarbush by getting on 89 and going one exit south to pick up rt. 100B. Waterbury also has plenty of food and drink options. That's Christmas week so lodging for $150/night might not be easy.

Both those mountains will be mostly empty the 25th, and will rapidly fill up with peeps the 26th on. You can expect any lodging that is still available to follow that same pattern.

Yeah, my guess is gonna be more like $200-250...
I’ll look into Waterbury.
Maybe I should stop by Stowe first to really take advantage of 25th.
Thank you!

If your looking for cheap lodging in central VT, you might want to consider joining the Onondaga Ski Club. They have a very nice lodge just south of sugarbush on rt 100 in lower granville. It's about 15 minutes from the bush, and obviously a bit further to stowe.
https://onondagaskiclub.org/The-Lodge
You have to be a member to use the lodge, but membership is only $27 a year or something like that. New members get 1 free night in the lodge, so you'll have that going for you. The club membership also gives you the NJ and CT ski council discounts on lift price.
The lodge rates are cheap. The dorm room is $28 per person and the private rooms are $56 for 2 people.
I've stayed there bunch of times, it's a nice place. No TV, but it has fast internets. Most of the time I have been the only one there. It gets the most use on holidays and big weekends, and the rest of the time it's empty.

Not sure of their prices or availability, Grunberg Haus in Waterbury is about as close to midway to both Stowe and Sugarbush as one can get. My best guess for 150 a night maybe VRBO, or you’ll have to Branch out to places further afield like Montpelier/Berlin, Williston, or Morrisville. The Onondaga ski club while a good deal will put you the furthest from food and nightlife.

M Jong is putting you on Hoth, exact middle of nowhere lower central Vermont. 25 minutes to teh bush, 1 1/2 hour to Stowe. Local bar is the only place open after 7 or 8pm. ATT cell, no Verizon I believe. Also the section of Rt. 100 from Granville to Warren village is the last to be plowed properly when it snows.
As Boreas said Grunberg is a good mid point choice, less than 10 minutes to Waterbury for dining and 20 2 bush 40 2 Stowe.www.apriliaforum.com

Closer to Stowe than Sugarbush.

I think Liesl's still kicking around.

If you decide to stay in Hoth, try for a reservation here, you'll love it.

Closer to Stowe. Goniff and I have stayed at the Commodore Inn (lower village). Clean, friendly, just a little cheesy but great peeps and definitely reasonable. I you can get in, try Harrison's for dinner in the main village.

^^^ I would expect the Commodore, like many of the motels in Stowe village to be sold out Xmas week.

Grunberg Haus is super cute, but there's only one (queen) bed for my price range!
I don't like sleeping with another person (except my boyfriend) in the same bed.
I can't believe m series was trying to put me in a hunted house with bunch of seniors!!!
Thanks for the heads up!
Trapp Family Lodge is nice, but it's $588,75 per night!
So far I found this airbnb private room with two bed.
Seems like close to everything and the guest reviews are good.

Don't believe the hype. Prohibition Pig is OK, but Blackback pub is the best place in Waterbury for beer and high end pub grub.

I'm gonna be in Waterbury for 4 nights and 5 days.
I think I have enough meals and beers to go around.
Recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I couldn’t agree with this statement more. Pro pig is over rated.

I like Pro Pig’s soft tacos and you can get fresh cans of beers to go if you need a few more to get through the night.
Trapp Brewery, food is a little spendy but I’m a fan of their pretzels and cheddar ale soup.
Mint in Waitesfield is tasty
Tired of vegetarian food, get a reservation at Hen of the Woods in Waterbury.
Pretty much all of the restaurants on 108 in Stowe are fine to eat at.

I’m willing to try anything.
So far:
ZenBarn
Prohibition Pig (soft tacos)
Blackback Pub
Trapp Brewery (pretzels & cheddar ale soup)
Mint
Hen of the Woods
I think my dinners are covered!

This is a must, don't hesitate! I guarantee every time you are back this way you will find yourself there again.
If you are in the area that long a trip up to BTV is worthwhile. Love Waterbury but my guess is after 2 days you will be looking for more to do and just guessing here, shopping might be part of your off mountain agenda. Shoot me a pm if you make it up this way.

Maybe I should hit Hen if the Woods on 25th by myself (if they are open).
Friend is coming up on 26th and is Pescatarian, so won’t eat meat.
Just checked and it’s only 30 mins to Burlington.
That can be a possibility.
If we do, I’ll check with you, FD!
I actually don’t like shopping.
I like buying things (with purpose) but hate browsing and window shopping.
Does that make sense?

Stock up at the Craft Beer Cellar when you get into town. And then again when you head home.
