Not sure how the idea of repurposing a reliable working chairlift constitutes growth for growth's sake, but to each his own. Mgmt should stop any work on Green before they have too many distraught seniors coming to the ticket counter wanting to refund their discounted tickets.

Check out Geoff's reply to this exact concern from 11/29.
Hoping some snow making windows open for DW and his crew to nail down that 12/16 opening day.

I will be dominating the Nelson Learning Center with little MSB next weekend. DoWork if you find some time please make a patch of snow over there. If need be, we will ski the dirt, but it’s a bit awkward.

Thanks!
I was there about an hour before the ticket window was closed on that crazy good day last season.
Bumping uphill capacity slightly could be okay, but doubling it would be a mistake. It seems ownership agrees in a general way.
On the other hand, the new snowmaking system is moving forward to have the pressure and capacity to create all day snowstorm conditions on numerous trails. The new heads produce marvelous snow and I am prepared to wipe off my goggles as often as need be to ski in that snowstormThe sad truth is that whine does not age well

If it was just about reliablility, sign me up for a donation. Replacing a double with a 4 seat chair is the problem, that's more uphill capacity than the mountain can handle w/o degrading the descent conditions rapidly.
Snowmaking capacity would have to more than double to just keep up with all that scraping off and there would probably have to be systematic trail closures for retilling during the busiest days. That's some serious expense and just a tad risky. The sad truth is that whine does not age well

The Snowbowl lift is a fixed grip quad. It's at least 25 years younger than anything that exists there now and 25 yrs older than a high speed detachable. Like most lifts it has a speed adjustment which I understand means it can be run at various speeds to the top. I'm sure the mad scientists at Magic can figure out what speed it could be run at so you can enjoy a nice sedate ride up the hill. But if you're happy with the way things are now, why mess w/ it?

Do you know that Magic is on pace to quadruple it’s working lift system when compared to the 15/16 season. (For you sticklers I don’t count rope tows, but I do count carpets, carpets are awesome. Did I mention I will be hanging out at the Nelson Learning Center this winter?)

Amazing progress over the past year. Crowding issue is fake news. 1500 cap limits issue. Magic needs more skier visits to survive, lest we forget the issues of the very recent past. Speculating about replacing Black is premature.
Lets focus on next Wednesday, when winter for real arrives, and DO WORK puts on snowmaking display not seen since World Cup prep on Superstar. Then it dumps. Then Magic opens in all its glory. See you there.

Say hello. Magic already claimed my better halfs knee a few weeks back hiking. Freak thing. She'll be looking for a chatty lady to pass some time.
Since we're on to pics. None made me smile more than when Son#2 Of Pinhead shared this one saying something to the affect of "Not many dads still get pitted like this"

Season ending for sure. She's ok with being the sacrificial lamb this year & praying for snow for the rest of us. Hope to see you on the 29th.

Was Big Daddy even wearing pants in The Wardrobe?
I know I wasn’t.
