    Yeah, that's what I meant. Seems you can use it for anything just like a debit card. But I don't know what kind of follow up you'd ever get to verify if your spending was eligible. IRS audit?

    Yeah, there's really nothing short of an IRS audit. In retrospect I framed the question wrong. Should have been written as: Is it legal to pay the premiums out of an HSA?

    I'll look into it and report back, but I suspect the answer is no.
