I'm curious, would that actually be considered low angle safe terrain? It literally looks like the middle of an avalanche path.

A 35 degree gully/terrain trap doesn't qualify as low angle safe terrain in my book.

    That's a favorable outcome.

They observed frequent cracks that broke up to 16 inches deep on a layer of facets between the slab and the ground.
    No bueno.

I am extremely new to the Backcountry so I am probably overly cautious but that looks like somewhere I wouldn't go. Just trying to learn.

They were wrong, steep slope, cracks, steeper slope above them, gully, maybe terrain trap.

This is Aspen, they weren't wrong, they're heroes, mavericks, pioneers of snow sliding. They did battle with the mountains and won.

    Wow.

Nice of them to share at least, but... wow.

pretty sure we've skied this mountain together, but not this particular slope.

We have, and I thought about how much fun that was when I was reading this report the other day.

We skied the main face off the top which is up and to the right of this pic.

Glorious turns. Some of the best bc turns I can remember. Great company too!
