Sorry the MFree 108 is still superior in all conditions to the WD and Ive got back on the WD again just to confirm that statement.

If I recall you like the C&D better than the BG/SG which likely has to do a lot with how you ski. The C&D will go up and over stuff vs through stuff like that BG/SG. Having never skied with you I imagine this is could be due to lower cruising speeds.

yeah, I am unashamed ON3P fanboi and that factors into it for sure. In this case I do actually prefer how WD108s ski in most scenarios, but not all re me trying to nuance my description.

I also think that the new WD110 should fix most of the first gen short comings, so I am happy to get a pair of those and try. Again, had 182 MF108s been slightly stiffer overall then I would happily have run them as a daily driver as well, though as they are I still rate Wildcat108s more. If I had only had MF108s and not had the funds to replace them then I would be more than happy to run them as daily drivers in their current form as well.

That is just how I find them - your preference might be completely different, which is fine - neither of us are right or wrong. I am not saying anything about which is the better ski, but which is the better ski for me.

Yeah, you could think so and I am def am slower than some, but in this case they fulfill different quiver slots. It is pretty unsurprising that the ski I use as a deep day untracked pow ski will be an easier ski to applaud than the one I use in variable. I have also gotten on much better with my BGs after giving them a re-tune, after spending a lot of time figuring out how to ski WD108s like the deserve to and since getting on BG108s. So yeah, these things all intertwine. I am also in the process of merging the BG and C+Ds into a single ski - BG118 - to get a more supportive tail and merge what I perceive to be the best traits of BG116 (pivotability), SGs (more supportive tails) and C+Ds (better float).

Last but not least, that you prefer something is only indicative of just that - that YOU prefer it. I also generally find that the posting style that is "strong statement without follow up details" more often than not adds very little to discussion other than just expressing a personal opinion. Sure, I use way to many words while trying to describe nuances that more often than not just adds more confusion, so I should def work on my brevity. But at least I try to add more to the conversation than "I think something so it must be so" type posts.

I spend most of my on snow days in this terrain (yeah, nm that the narration is in Norwegian and that they snowboard - but it highlights the terrain well).

anyway, I'll stop commenting on ON3P vs Dynastar vs Moment vs whatever - I've shared what little experience and insight I have already.

Can the mfree 108 192 charge as hard in soft variable as the rustler 11 192? I skied the mfree 118 this year (great pow ski) and missed the gas pedal and stomping platform of the 192 rustler 11.

Hit up Darth Markus. He may be one of the few who has skied both and can provide input. Ive only skied the 192 MFree and it does fine in soft crud.

Has anyone been on the M-Free 108 192cm and NOT loved it, like one of the Blister reviewers?

Deciding between it and the Cochise 106 as my La Grave daily driver for next season. Was leaning towards the Cochise, but there is a lot of love for the M-Frees in this thread. I am 6ft, 160lb.

I don't think the m-free 108 appeals to all. There's merit to other skis with less camber than the MF108. I think there's also merit to skis with more of a tapered tip and tail than the MF108 has. There are also lighter, more playful skis out there.

Edit: not saying I don't love this ski, cuz I do. And I think a good portion of the chargy TGR crowd does as well. I've just heard from some other people on here that it's not their jam.

When is the updated Pro Rider coming? If it's just a bit looser, maybe some weight redistribution with modern tech, and a slightly stiffer tip, it could be my favorite ski ever.

What are you talking about? Are there rumors out there that I'm not aware of about updating the Pro Rider? Making it looser, redistributing weight , and stiffening the tip?

You can't just interrupt this thread with heresy.

One of the Dynastar guys alluded to it on a podcast or interview video a while back, IIRC.

In the Dynastar Blister podcast when asked about the changes to the 21/22 MPro 105/Pro Rider from last year there was no tweaks as of now but more to come on that ski. A little tease for next year

Havent ever seen or heard any specifics though.

    What length?
I've got a pair of 182s new in plastic that I picked up in spring sale that I'm debating selling vs mounting.

Anyone gone behind the line for the M-Free 118 189?

Was going to put regular bindings on and mount on the line, but have a niggling thought I might like -1 so may put demos on.

I liked that ski best at 2 clicks back on the demo binder. Id say that was about -.8 or -1.

The update pro rider has been in the works for awhile now. Like 10 years. First it was the Cham 107 (who the fuck makes a 107, for Christ sake) then the Cham 2.0, then the Legend X 106 (which actually ripped BTW and wasn’t one-oh-fuckingseven) and yet here we still are. Maybe there will be a new M-Pro 10X in the future, maybe the 192 105 will still be better at doing what that ski does. Honestly the market the M-Pro is going after dies pretty hard after triple digit waist widths. Consumers aren’t really buying a lot of Cochise 106, Vantage 107s, etc. even the K108 and new Rossi who gives a fuck with the flat tail doesn’t move that well for a 104-108 wide skis. There is a reason the enforcers all get a twin over 100. A 186 M-pro rider 108 would likely be titstacular though.

    The Dynastar Thread

Is the 2021 M-Pro 192 105 in all black not the pinnacle of that ski for the 50 people a year who are going to buy it?

Id buy a 186 108 right now, though. The ON3P 110 WD would be pissed, though.

The K108 would cry behind its noisy carbon tip.

The Cochise would be an after thought.

Agreed. A 108 186 would destroy this entire genre.

    For us.

But Dynastar realizes that the M-Free 108 makes a few sacrifices that we would accept.

The M-Free 108 should have been a Rossi.

    There. I said it

Fingers crossed the new pro rider is 107mm under foot (just a little wider than 106 but not quite as cumbersome as a 108 width - perfect.)

You can joke all you want but the difference between a 192/105 and a 186/108 is quite substantial for dudes who are 59 165.

Not all of us want an M-free 108. Nor have we bought a katana or a Cochise. Were just too fucking small for a 192/105. And were bummed. Weve been bummed for decades.
