Anything rocker-camber-rocker with a fair amount of taper.
Ive personally skied...
Rocker2 100 (still own and love)
Rocker2 122 (actually 115 under foot, still own and love)
Blizzard peacemaker
Blizzard bonafide (unintuitive and overly punishing)
Rossi S3 (good on groomers, shit it pow)
Rossi S7 (same as above but a little better in pow).
Praxis MVP (never jived with it)
Praxis Protest (never jived with it but own and love powderboards)
Praxis BC (good ski but sold it)
I'm not comparing any of those skis to the mf108 because I haven't tried the mfree.... just saying a lot of people do a similar design "concept" and I wanted to try a different concept.
I personally don't love a lot of camber but the description of how the hybrid core of the mfree is so smooth and loose makes me want to give them a go. But I also have lots of skis and like having different tools in the bag that do different things.Goal: ski in the 2018/19 season

They’re nothing like the Rockr2 100, S3 or S7. It’s the PU in the core that makes them special in my opinion.

Yup... I totally get that... and I want to try them.
I do believe the hype... I honestly do.
But they are similar enough in design to a ski I own and have no intention of getting rid of (rocker 2 122 in a 180, which is actually 115 under foot, decently stiff, and quite loose), that it didn't make sense as a purchase when I filled the 100-110 slot this year. Those skis are about 8 years old and still look and ski pretty new. Like 2FUNKY, I'm trying to keep myself from buying new skis I don't need. Sort of.
Anyways... if I demo them I'll report back. And if I love the shit out of them I'll admit it here and maybe make some quiver moves to fit them in... I've been surprised by what I love and need before and might be again.
Edit to add: just went out to the garage to stare at my rocker2 "115s", and compare them to the pics of the mf108 on blister and they are remarkably similar in shape and profile. Looks like less taper and less rocker in the tails on the mfree... so they would probably ski longer than my rockers with more effective edge. That and super damp does sound very nice.Goal: ski in the 2018/19 season

There is absolutely a metal plate underneath the binding.
Edit: at least I pulled up metal shavings when I tapped my 187s.

First day on the 187 Menace 98s, mounted on the rear line. I liked them in skied out soft snow, whether skiing fast through chop or bouncing around in tighter spots. They have a lively flex and good damping. The were also surprisingly fun in some pockets of deep snow I got them in.
I find them a bit weird in and out of turns. After a couple of runs, I dulled the tips and tails, but I still feel like the turn initiation is a bit strange. As soon as the turn is initiated, the tip grabs and pulls into the turn, before there’s really time to build a proper platform (weight transfer). I had to be fairly deliberate about not rolling them over too early. I’m not sure if I’m describing this well but it’s odd.
I seem to recall others mentioning Menace 98s coming edge-high (concave base) from the factory. I’ll check for that, but hopefully the issue is the tune and not that I don’t get along with the shape.
In any case, the 192 M-Free 108s have exceeded my expectations for versatility. I could probably use them everyday. I was just hoping to have a narrower ski that’s fun to rail GS turns on groomers on. With the grabby turn initiation, I’m not sure the Menace 98 will be what I’m looking for.

I'm bringing my Menace 98s in for a tune. I'll report back whether it resolves the grabbiness I was experiencing.

picked up the 182 mf 108s based on this thread.
1. enjoy them, intuitive ski
2. wish they were 186, 182 is a bit shorter than my usual, 192 is more than my knees need - more on this later
3. they remind me of old 4frnt devastators, marginally less nimble and waaaay better on firm
4. a blast in the deep, but in the *really deep* i've wished i had brought wider skis, not really a surprise, probably would be fine if a touch longer (surface area) - hence the interest in 186(ish)
by *really deep* i'm talking about meter+
5. remember being jealous of my buddies dynastars many years ago, i was on harts, finally bought a pair
dldr: what i was looking for in a inbounds ski w/tectons - do recommend

Thanks gents. they are 186s. One small but repaired shot and only one mount. Going to get them ground and see if the OG lives up to the gas pedal mashing hype.

what kinda dipshit parts with best ski ever for 80$? must have been stolen....
Scientists now have decisive molecular evidence that humans and chimpanzees once had a common momma and that this lineage had previously split from monkeys.

Really nice guy with a handful of other skis better suited to riding with his young kids. Said he was original owner and hadn’t skied em in years and saw a ~15 year old ski as not worth very much and had no inkling of cult status
