We should ski together, I know we’ve tried to connect a few times in the past.

You can take my 112s for a spin, and also I think the HL rc85/95 should be on your radar for the hard snow ski which I have both for you to try. Just keep in mind my rc85s are the super stiff flex protos so the production version will be less ass kicking. But I’m really sold on those two skis for Schweitzer. The shape is really fun both on and off piste.

Yeah, we should get together. I am here now but will be skiing with my wife tomorrow. Saturday could work for me to meet up. I load at Creekside first thing to get to the village. Let me know if Saturday works for you.

Interesting. I like the 108 better. I think it is the more substantial ski. Maybe the more rearward mount point.

Dont get me wrong, I like the 112, but the new 108 (192) is a charger.

    Maybe it’s because I’m -5 on the ski…

Skied the one twelve Mfree today in soft snow with it stacking heavily. Simply put, the ski absolutely rips! Charges like mad, floats really well and pivots way better than I expected. Super damp. It’s a heavy ski but doesn’t ski that way, swing way is not representative of the overall weight. Great resort soft snow charger.

^^ came here to report the same.

Mind blown once again; DStar does it again. Blowing my mental with the Mfree line.

Yeah, are we talking the new 108 compared to 112 or old? I skied the new 192 108 and thought it was more ski than the 112, but in a good way. I skied it on rec a d the 190 112 -1.

I would be raving about the 112 had I not skied the 108 literally back to back.

I haven’t skied the new 108. My 112s are -5 which would definitely influence the feel of the ski.

Makes me want to get my hands on the new mfree108

So I have the 1st gen mfree 108, which I love. Sounds like the consensus is the new one is better? Also, any feedback on the new mfree 100? Thanks

What are the changes in the 108 year to year? Has anyone confirmed if the 185 is a new ski or just a rebranded 182, and how long it actually is? If any of them exist.

2Funky, which ski do you have. Waist width is just emojis for me.

2funky was skiing on my 112s

As far as I know, the first two topsheet versions of the mfree108 are the same.

The version out now is a slightly different core layup.

182 vs 185… I think the 185 is the same length as the 182 but a tad beefier layup. I haven’t seen any in person though.

Yes, availability is limited on any of the skis unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like any retailers got their full allocation which also trickled down to limited availability in pro sales channels etc.

What’s up with the hybrid PU cores they’ve been using for the last few years? Sounds like foam. Are foam skis back in?

There’s PU stringers that run in the middle of the core with wood on both sides. They allow the ski to be both damp feeling but also playful/poppy. These aren’t the mushy foam core of old.

Does anyone have a straight pull length of the 112 183? Any stiffness comparison to a 116 wildcat?

I sold my 182s before I got to ski them back to back with my new 185s, unfortunately. But I would say they feel similar in length, and also feel like a similar amount of ski to my 185 M-Free 99. They don’t truck like the 192s.

I can’t quote for some reason - but for the question about the actual length of the 183 112 - they’re about the same length as the 185 M-Free 108, based on seeing the skis side by side. So about 182.

Been skiing my 118s a lot this year (after not skiing them a single time last season). Lowered my minimum snow threshold for bringing them out--as long as it is fresh on top of soft, they ski well and the extra floatation feels worth it.

I've really warmed up to more loose feeling skis. Skiing mostly in the trees, being able to to just throw the tails sideways on a whim has influenced my line choice and changed how I approach terrain.

After a period of skiing the 118s (and some even looser Ravens), I got back on my MVP 108s last Saturday and was skiing like shit! Those don't even have particularly sticky tails but I kept getting hung up until I remembered how to drive the ski. Need to actually push the boot and give myself room to make the turn.

    So, if the 185 is actually a 182 who makes a 186-188 M-Feee 108? Erring on the narrower side if anything. What’s the 188 M-Free 106?

The 192 Mfree 108 straight tapes at 189. So
I guess just go with the 192.

Speculation is the Heritage Lab AM110 / AM100 ought to have some very similar characteristics. Or, perhaps, an amplification of the Characteristics that make the M-Free line great - Good suspension, loose and surfy, "modern" mount location.

Woodsman 108 also has some hefty suspension, modern mount, loose tails, and is true to length. This is like Haagan-Dazs vs. Ben and Jerry's - two versions of the same product with people preferring one over the other.
