Yep just read that.
I wonder if he would have given up the fame and riches of AC/DC for his health?
From what I am reading he was toast @ 59 or 60

still remember discovering these guys in my youth.
So many iconic cuts (and others not so much) that were in regular rotation on my soundtrack of life.

I bought Highway to Hell with money I earned working in the strawberry fields when I was 13, they've been a staple in my musical diet every since. Frankly I'm amazed they lasted as long as they did, physically that is.
May Malcolm find his rest, or an endless gig with Bon Scott.I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. -אלוהים אדירים

RIP. The last chapter of his story was a sad one, but hell, the early ones were great.

RIP. Cause of death was dementia I just read in the Rolling Stone obit.
I didn't know that dementia actually kills people, apparently a lot of Docs didn't (or don't) know it either, here's an article if you're interested: http://content.time.com/time/health/...930278,00.html

I've introduced my 9yo son to AC/DC and he loves them too.
I'll never forget the first time I saw the movie Maximum Overdrive, and thought that music was awesome. I watched the credits, saw AC/DC "Hells Bells", went to Sam Goody at the mall and bought the Back in Black album. My world was changed.
RIP Malcolm

Highway to Heaven for Malcolm Young or Hell
Wife and eye (sorry iPhone bug) took our son, who was 7 at the time, to see AC/DC at the Tacoma Dome. We sprung for some amazing seats and a groupie brought our boy one of Angus’ guitar picks during the show. He was in awe. We were lucky to catch them because it was Brian Johnson’s last show due to his hearing issues. My son will never forget that night.
RIP Malcolm

First song I learned on bass was “Squealer” back in the early 80’s (I quickly switched to guitar, ‘cause that’s sexier.) The perception of AC/DC as a metal band always confused me; they’re a heavy blues band, and a damn talented one at that. RIP, brother.

Highway to Heaven for Malcolm Young or Hell
My college roommate used to have the same vintage Gibson SG Angus played. He cranked it through an old tube amp, i used to come home to the sound of AC/DC licks all the time.

This was really their prime time I think. Brian Johnson was a good enough replacement, and they grew much more famous after he joined, but Bon Scott was the voice they brought him in to emulate.
When I was a freshman in highschool, I walked to school with my little boom box blasting Let There Be Rock, which sounded like crap but it was loud. The digitally remastered version of the album is an incredible improvement in quality over the original LP version, it is wicked raw sounding.
In the liner notes it said that during the recording of the title track, Angus' amplifier caught on fire, and he just kept playing until the cut that ended up on the album was finished, and the amp was a melted mass of wires.Last edited by Rasputin; 11-20-2017 at 01:11 AM.

To me, AC/DC was as big as Zeppelin, the Stones or the Beatles. But even better, because even though they lost their front man, they carried on to even bigger success, and never quit.
RIP

I loved all their b side stuff. If I don't hear You Shook Me, or Thunderstruck again, I'm ok with that. Most popular rock band ever, apparently 😎
