Bummer, Max.
I'll see you on the deck if you're there between 1/20-1/26.

Tippster I’ve actually got most of those days off from work, so schredd I️ shall.
Brighton wasn’t half bad today and yesterday. Bummer to pay for lift Tix but they were at least discounted ($55 rather than normal $85).
3 lifts running, so could mix up about 4 or 5 combos of worthwhile runs, and lines weren’t bad. Running only every other chair (not sure I’ve ever seen this) but still < 5 min wait generally even in middle of day.
Starting to get brown in more spots today for sure, so hopefully this storm will pan out.
A few tracks under lift line on snake creek—coverage actually not terrible.
Anyway, was fun to dust off the cobwebs and try out new boots. Chris at Inkline is the man."I said flotation is groovy"

Saw Alta moved their expected opening date to 12/2 (from the 1st) on their website yesterday PM without any other fanfare.

Moab was nice this past weekend. Cold at night though.
Anyone know what the "coverage" is like on the GWE side of Brighton? I could drive up but I am very lazy

So both alta and the bird are shit right now?
Things are pretty grim here, Aspen is rock heaven. I destroyed 2 pairs of skis in 3 days.
Whoever says its not so bad up there is just not being realistic. Its a fucking mine field of rock and thin coverage.

I have to believe that unless the switch really gets tripped, they need at least another week.

Not a fucking thing. Will get a little shot tomorrow into Thurs, but looks like maybe 6-12". We need a LOT more than that.

Alta has way more terrain open than Snowbird. I'm jealous. That said: It doesn't feel like mid- December to me. Not just snow and weather wise, overall I just feel like it's fall still. So with that mindset, focusing on making nice turns while hauling ass down groomers has been awfully fun.

takes so much to fill in at SB. Bananas opened on Saturday and it's still a mine field. Some areas got wind scoured something fierce, so even though 20" fell none of it stayed around.
We are a month behind on the snow pack. I know the next big storm some guys are going to get season ending injuries charging lines that are simply not ready.
We just need more water..... Be patient!

Snowbird / Alta Inbounds 2017-18
Yesterday was pretty rad.
Coverage still sucks balls except on piste and in some select areas like the cirque (although I definitely scraped plenty of rocks trying to find shit to jump off of on the cirque). And indeed I left w a couple core shots. But skied a few really fun lines like this:

Much hooting and hollering were done yesterday.
DO YOUR SNOW DANCE. Let’s get some better coverage so we can open ‘er up and start hucking pillows willy-nilly...Last edited by Deep Days; 01-27-2018 at 01:37 PM.
