I think the Kittitas and Upper Yakima Valleys are more susceptible to this 'fatal weakness'. Best part of the Wenatchee Valley is the paucity of private land and lack of an Interstate highway.

FTR, Chelan County has more Seattlites (transplanted and 2nd homes) than Kittitas County

I can believe that, they're probably mostly around Lake Chelan. Lake Chelan isn't in the Wenatchee Valley but I have a feeling you know that.

A good piece of Kittitas County westsiders are in Suncadia, which might as well be 100 miles from Eburg.

Getting back to Lworth, there's a growing population of westsiders there.

And there is no shortage of processed meat in Lworth.

    An alpine Poulsbo, maybe?

Unfortunately shares name with one of the largest federal prisons in the country.

Nah, Poulsbo is a faux-Norwegian tourist trap but executed with less enthusiasm than Der Town. It's confined to like four blocks of downtown, mostly.

Maybe I'll bring a couple dozen donuts from Sluy's Bakery to BBi this year.

Eh...not necessarily. A large chunk of NW Washington is in proximity to Seattle without losing their identity.

There is a growing westsider population in Leavenworth and they're pushing the old timers out but there's not much room for growth.

Fun fact, the Bavarian theme of the town was foisted on Leavenworth by a gay couple from Seattle back in the day when they relocated there. The had visited Winthrop and liked the western theme and thought that a theme town would revive the economy of a dying railroad/logging town.
