I haven't noticed a big difference during off season at WH... place is always busy. You can give them your name/number and they'll text you when the table is ready. Plenty of nearby options to grab a drink while you wait.

Good food, nice setting at WH. My complaint is the corporate stigma - not super stoked on a "fancy" chain. But, they've worked themselves into the restaurant scene pretty well and that patio is solid for morning and afternoon sunshine.

Rudy - check out the Taproom for a beer. Nothing exciting, but it's got good energy right now and plenty of space for family/kids. The So cafe at Art Museum is also a great spot for a lunch or just views of the mountain.

Since the thread was already bumped wanted to say thanks for the recs. Ended up hitting up a few and were spot on. Always amazed at how much different that extra hour of driving from the front range impacts that crowds. Speaking of the crowds it is quite a different scene as well... My kids were the only ones in the lodge while we were getting lunch at 2:45 Friday afternoon at Ajax and there were many tables of folks sitting back an enjoying their bubbly. Also got the shake down for bringing our own food at Snowmass. Guess I need to keep my gold brickin' ass outta your beach community.

My wife and I will be up skiing on Friday. Not sure where yet, but likely Highlands or Snowmass as the snow line may be pretty high to start out.

    Really, where?
Liquor is taboo, but brown bagging is common at the Sundeck and everywhere else that I’m aware of.

I’m out everyday, but never really know where until 7:30-8.

Snowmass was really good early today, but the snow got really sticky about noon.
The flats where brutal and Snowmass has flats.
Unless Snowmass reports double, I’ll be on Ajax. Highlands would work too, but if it’s raining, I’ll be in the bucket.

I'm not announcing this year, so I'll probably skip. Last Friday was fun.

Highlands was ridiculous up top, funky in the middle, and good again at the bottom.

    Great day on Ajax!

    Big air got postponed.

From the app it looks like Snowmass didn’t open the gated terrain. Can anyone confirm?

I’m having a party at Shadow Mountain’s deck at 12:00 tomorrow.
Come rip some laps on 1A and have a brat.
At least we’ll know what we all look like.

12" of slop up top for closing day. I'm curious what time they'll get it open; sounds like scary conditions.

I've got a few 50% off vouchers for any Mags coming to Aspen today/next weekend

Roaring Fork - Aspen Snowmass This side of the Elks Stoke 17-18

I rode up to the top of Loge, with the employees at 8:20.
Crushed it and had a great day!

It doesn’t look like the gated terrain at Snowmass opened today?

Yeah, had a pretty solid day at Highlands. A bit heavy, but having grown up in the PNW, it wasn't too foreign. Crushed some nice laps on Temerity with friends and was home at 4. No shit show party at the base for us this year!

I think I was home by 1... DV. LOL, I was at the base and listened to the sound check, that system is ridiculous.

You know the closing "party" has really jumped the shark when most of your local "friends" are showing up just for the party and aren't even skiing. This year was particularly biased that way for some reason regarding our closer friends. Can they just move the Base party to Buttermilk or something?

Roaring Fork - Aspen Snowmass This side of the Elks Stoke 17-18

What a strong finish, to a season with a slow start.
So nice to see all the Freaks, Flyers, Monkeys, Dogs and Independents out at the Buckoff Today.
This place is always good and I’m so happy I made my Choice way back in 69.

See you guys out on the skin track, single track or the Belly up!

What are everyone's thoughts on the Locals Clinic Pass? I'm a mediocre skier but I want to improve this season. Are the clinics any good?
