Anyone want to ski tomorrow? Ajax was ok today, probably going to hit up highlands tomorrow. Also anyone know if Snowmass has opened anything else up? I know the whole upper mountian was closed yesterday because of the wind. I heard some blasting from the intercept lot this morning. Might be tempted to head over there if they get the rest of the wall and burn cliffs open.

Based on the bombs all day today... I think it’ll be testy there for a while.

They opened a little of Rock Island the other day... there is some terrain to ski now.

Buttermilk was great today, below the wind.

Snowmass was good today, but very windy. Absolutely dumping.
Mostly skied the nob and Alpine Springs.
It will take them a while to open the gated terrain tomorrow, but I’ll be at the VX at 8. Got a bud in town that only has a few hours.

I'll be sneaking out to Ajax at the end of the day tomorrow; where you skiing Buster?

Nice light snow all day today; skinned up Thunderbowl after dark for a bit of cardio. Skinned two Bowl laps yesterday afternoon with some horrific wind/white-out on the ridge. Serene and soft down in the G's though:

Unreal distribution, the back was deep!
February’s been just like last January, just a month late.

1A had 14 people at opening.
Save 1A and tell the councilmen, no Gorsuch House and no moving the lift!

    Did anyone ski Highlands?
I have a hard time believing the bowl wasn’t similar to Aspen mid mountain?

Wife has a clinic there today, so I guess I’ll find out.

Apologies to Roaring Forkers, I only managed 1 day and had some old friends to meet @ Highlands.

Thank you for your invites, I just couldn't get it all done.

I'm a little late to the party... but Saturday AM was indeed incredible; some of the best quality snow I've skied. Only had time for a few laps, but they were amazing.

Heading to town tomorrow for the weekend. Any places to eat/drink post skiing that shouldn't be missed? Will be with and maybe w/o kids but reasonably priced (by Aspen standards).

Most nice restaurants have very reasonable bar menus. Often they have 4 tops, that can accommodate kids.

La Hostria, Mezzaluna, Rustique and Jimmy’s are just a few.

I like to apré at Hops when I want good beer. The people watching at Ajax tavern is all time and the bartenders and servers at Red Onion are good people

Ale House after a day on Highlands

Base Camp or the Ranger Station in Snowmass (or Venga Venga if you like tequila drinks)

Not really an apres spot per se, but White House Tavern is delicious. They don’t take reservations so be prepared for a wait.

I love the White House, but it’s become an off season place for me,because of the waits.

Ajax skied great today. Cone, Rayburn’s and SQR popped early.

Then I took the wife to Snowmass late to catch the Pro Tour.
Not many spectators and kind of hard.

SQR! I figured it wouldn't open this season (maybe it has already though?). Haven't even ventured out to check, but might have to poke around this weekend. 5:30 lifts closing last night was a great way to end the week!
