January... still hoping the grass gets greener in 2018. Ajax has held up well, despite the April conditions. Highlands (sub-Bowl): not so much.
We had a great time at Taggert for NYE. Toured off Mace Saddle with mostly crusty/windblown, but with a few soft pockets.
I foolishly took my monoski out to Ajax on 1/7 and destroyed it with the new 4" only hiding the rocks.
Found some soft turns above Sangree's hut as the 1/10-12 system came through.
Lindley hut on 1/14-15; skied some old, deep sugar in the trees.
Dipped into Soddbuster this week and got a nice base compression in my tails.
Hopefully last night storm skis kindly, not painfully! Weekend blast to Jackson continues to be more enticing...

I skied a lot of untracked at Snowmass today. It’s lower angle, but it was still pretty good.
Day 61 and still having fun.

10-4pm at Ajax, with some legit face shots. Skied great with tons of deep pockets on the Face, Christmas Tree, Bear Paw. Snowmass snow stake cam shows 5" during the day, I'm guessing Ajax had ~3" of fill-in.

I've been on skis for 7 days straight: 5 tiehack skin laps and 4 days at Ajax. Pretty stoked on that. Pretty stoked on LCD Thursday night as well!
Sunday was goooooood with that 7" during the day. Wife ski acting on the Face of Bell:
Said wife making the cord on Racer's Edge look good after a morning skin up Tiehack yesterday:
Followed up with an excellent Ajax afternoon rip-around.

Appears that they didn’t open Long Shot, but I swear, they had the groomers up there last night. Next storm maybe?
They did open Campground. It’s thin at the bottom, but totally skiable.
I ski everyday and would be happy to share a run, intel or just a beer.
Every mag I’ve skied with here, has been good people!

I skied 1A early and the DH course was buffed to perfection.
Took the hound out to the Divide Lot and did a fat bike ride/ Campground lap.
I love this place.Last edited by Shredhead; 01-31-2018 at 06:01 PM.
