Thankful for Ullr's gifts as we exit the holiday mayhem. I was in the PNW last week (ski-less) as the Cascades got hammered, wondering if the 12/21 system headed to CO was actually going to deliver. Flew back and was out to Highlands on Thursday for two Bowl laps as the storm pushed in. Flat light, white-out skiing down Ozone was worth the effort. I think I saw a total of 7 people total.
Soft days at Ajax and Highlands for the last week have been a welcome change to the first four weeks of the "season." I enjoyed two bowl laps yesterday with my father-in-law. It's wayyy better than a week ago, but you're still dodging sharks and craters in the B's with coverage stacking up nicely in the G's.
We're off to Tagert for two nights over NYE. Hoping the conditions settle down a bit so we can do some shady-side New Years turns. Hope everyone had a nice Holiday!

Good luck up at Taggert and be careful. I've heard there is safe decent skiing, but also have heard of a few questionable decisions up there recently. I've had a cold the last few days, should be back out there Friday.

formerly an ambassador for a few others, but the ski industry is... interesting.
Fukt: a very small amount of snow.

Yeah, I'm expecting some mellow meadow turns and lots of down time. We skied into Pine Creek on Christmas Eve and some hut groups were exiting on the road with ice axes/ropes/etc. I am confused as to what they expected to ski up there and use that gear...

Anyone been up on Snowmass? I hope this next storm starts getting us into terrain.www.dpsskis.com

I responded in the Weather thread... but they opened Sunrise/Sunset, Hanging Tree, Shoulder, Ridge, and Short Snort.
Also heard 1A Lift Line is open now too but I didn't ski that. If you apply a liberal definition to Face of Bell, you can now do Face to Six to the dumps! Shoulder was really fun too, it was thin but I love that run before it gets all bumped out.

Roaring Fork - Aspen Snowmass This side of the Elks Stoke 17-18
Upper 1A lift lines been open for a while, but not Henry’s or the Goat Road.
Depending on what we get tonight.
I’d keep an eye on Bear Paw, S1 and Perry’s. Patrols been working it hard.
The rest of the Face and Glades 2&3 would probably be next.
Shoulder’s been the run of the day.
I’m first chair on 1A just about every day, if anyone wants to take a run. Take the Downtowner if you don’t want to hike.

Walsh's/Kristi/Hyrup's also on the table if this cycle is productive.

Ajax skied really well this morning.
Took the wife to Snowmass for the afternoon to check out the Grand Prix Slope Style Finals.
The best place to watch was riding Coney Glade over the venue.
Watched one competitor auger in hard and he wasn’t getting up.
Wife didn’t want to watch after that, so we skied.
No lines anywhere, busy runs where glazed and a little thin.
Sams Knob was really good crud and nobody skis there.

^^Nice. I did a bowl lap this morning, found a bunch of smooth/creamy windbuff right down the gut. So fun.

Green outfit, not sure of the skis.
I assume it’s the same guy GR posted on Facebook.

Fun was had on Ajax yesterday. My travel buddy’s skis ended up at the ptex doctor but they had a lot of fun getting there. Glades off of Gents were worth the rocks. Walsh’s and Hyrups had high pucker factor but manageable.
Highland today.

Ajax is skiing well still. Ripped a few on 3 then to Walshe's to Glade 3.
I wasn't expecting slush bumps on Glade 3 thoughwww.dpsskis.com

First time off Highlands, reallllly happy with the snow through the G zones. No cat, & could only handle one round tripper but it was all that and a bag of chips.
