I'm not sure if it's there to plug the realtor, but the last photo on Zillow made me laugh. When I'm browsing million dollar homes, the first thing I always look for is whether it's convenient to a strip mini-mart.

Not unusual in the RE world. Pretty much every listing I've ever had there was some previous instance of something like this. Rarely, if ever, came to fruition.

They said they were gonna make an offer by the end of that week, and then they fell off the earth. Never heard from them again. so odd.

    TP use is dramatically reduced.

Ya, not my first choice, but for $1M, that is a damn nice home. Show us pics of your other places

ha. yeah. a long time ago. I lost a bet and had to wear a Yankees hat for an entire weekend at the beach and I've never been allowed to forget it. I forgot a picture had even been taken, and then at Christmas I got it as a "gift" all blown up and framed.

    You know you want it.
I don't know what market price is in your area but that's a very nice house. That thing would sell pretty quick in PDX for $1-1.2. I don't think you could build it for that here.

It cost nearly that much to build it 20 years ago, building it now would be way more. But it's only worth what somebody will pay you for it.

No I'm sitting here right now. Splitting time between here and Mass. until we sell it. My wife started a business here in Maryland so we haven't been in a big rush to sell until we see how things are with that.

That home, or one very similar, was on the extraordinary homes netflix show I mentioned earlier.

If I ever won the lottery (fuck, should probably buy a ticket) I would 100% have Olson Kundig design a house for the Rootskier family.

How about I give you 10% of my winnings and vice versa? Then one of us can at least afford a OK-designed mailbox.

Tom's an old friend. Many an interesting conversation about what it's like to have that kind of juice in the architectural world. He's also a good skier, though don't think he gets up much anymore.

So i guess he has seen snow. Why would you build a house with uncovered metal stairs where it snows?
