That looks very flat...like Wisconsin. A nice place to visit, but I would want to live there.
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

sometimes the breathy enthusiasm is a bit over the top, but it’s a good series and offers up some pretty interesting homes

The architect guy sometimes talks architect-y and does a sketch to illustrate some moment in the house, which I wish there were more of...but that’s me, not sure if that’s appealing to others

Pretty sure I mentioned it earlier in this thread. I really dig that show and some of the homes they visit. Some people find the hosts annoying but I kinda like them. And I like the architect-y talk.

I guess the tall side faces the mountains? That seemed like a lot of glass to look at nothing.

Is the slab concrete? Looks like the slab and frame would be easy to move. Not sure about the glass.

Grand Designs is another great show for houses.

It's not flat everywhere, just most everywhere.

I discovered both those shows through this thread and they are the only two that have been able to displace Top Gear from my bedtime watching regimen. I think I like the houses featured on Grand Designs a bit more, and the host isn't necessarily afraid to say, in that perfectly proper British way, the equivalent of "what the fuck are you thinking".

Caroline Quentin though is basically a carbon copy of my late grandmother, from looks to personality, so it is this odd sense of nostalgia for me also.

Even there, it's still pretty flat!

Did it fall on the house? That place was kind of a mess.

I know. I grew up in Kenosha and spent most of my time at Wilmot/Playboy/Majestic/AV. But through ski club trips, I prolly skied 40-50 days at Cascade and Devil's Head.

Yeah, cut it in half. It was in pretty bad shape 21 years ago, I don't know what it's like now.

I think I prefer most (not all) the homes on the other show, but Grand Designs has the advantage of watching them build it, which makes for more interesting TV (and gives the host the opportunity to say shit like "are you sure this is a good idea").
