We actually hit Crystal on the way to Baker, off-piste steeps were pretty chunky, gondola laps were fun. A Washingtonian will be able to answer your questions much better than I.

That's because the winch cat runs kill people up here. They all end in huge rollers.

One of those almost killed my friend. According to his recollection, one minute he was going downhill fast on smooth "machine groomed" terrain, the next he was in the ICU in Bellingham. He doesn't remember a second of the flight for life...

I think that's just a way to keep everyone from even trying. I wonder if WSP is out there turning around Subarus with blizzaks for not chaining up.

Unless you make it up 90 at 5am tomorrow before EB closes

Thinking about vertfest, pick someone in the back of Armstrong line and race them to the top of 2.

If we can get half of that forecasts predicted snow we will take it, winds be damned.
Common sense. So rare today in America it's almost like having a superpower.

Lift lines often aren't that bad presidents weekend. Most lessons are off, folks are on vacation, and bobby will be at the pool.

Shaping up to be a nice one. But it was definitely starting to get upside down (and deep!) this afternoon so take it easy out there.

this x2. With the ski schools off it's usually much lighter than the average weekend.

Fun surprise pow day at xtal with thing #1 today. Telemetry this morning showed very little new snow. In fact, there were a couple of feet and surprisingly few takers. Not bottomless, and a few chunks of hidden debris here and there. Kinda funny snow. Stayed fluffy all day, but it was 'slow' under the skis. Felt like it had a lot of water in it in spite of its fluffy goodness.

    Good shit.

No, they were not. They did have a bunch of semis with no chains pulled over though. And the idea that AWD vehicles with traction tires needed chains is absurd. There was spotty slush up to maybe a couple inches. Really not bad.

Saw the circus at noon on 90. Staties pulling over unchained semis and chained semis throwing chains (3 times). Total bullshit for 3 inches of wet snow perfect for turning the road to frozen cobblestone.

Pretty much untracked powder at Mission Ridge today. Hopefully brief warm up leads to good bonding with the crust...
