Yes, also 04/05, almost a total shut out except for a big storm at the end of March that allowed them to open for about two weeks or so - (Snoqpass can confirm actual).

After a magical day yesterday, today was a bit of a letdown. Heavy sludge. As I drifted into line on Chair 2 the GM Josh asks me "How is it'? I replied, "Feels like skiing at Snoqualmie Pass".

when did they shut down chair 2? It wasnt running when I got there a bit before 3 (short day, the rain/fogged glasses ruined my vibe)

Still raining steadily atop I-90 this evening. Crystal would be a much better use of one's time tomorrow morning...

Went to stevens yesterday afternoon. Late bird got the worm!!!

Only because they where floating in the puddles of rain.

Did several laps testing gear for ability to shed moisture. Success! Riding wasn't so bad if you could stay dry.

Hung out with a big group in the tooth after.

I learned to ski in 04/05 at Mt Baker. They were helicoptering snow from the ridge top to the base area and cat tracks so everything was still skiable. Crazy.

Snow in the PNW 17-18: Dropping!

Anybody check out Cliff Mass’ blog today? A shift in the jet stream sounds great right about now. I’m ready for winter.

It's only mid-January, and even if it stopped snowing for the next 4 months it'd be a better season than 04-05. (At least we got free season passes for the following season.) I've had some fun ski days this year, albeit half of them have been on XC gear or fat fishscales or a few hundred miles to the east.

    Lol old Steve.

04-05 was an epic year in LCC. IIRC Snowbird opened on Halloween and it snowed nearly 700” at the Alta snotel site that season.

I’ve had some good ski days this year but as a NW transplant I haven’t developed a taste for skiing in the rain. Nothing wrong with being excited for genuine cold weather.

Oh give me a break. No one gives a shit about how bad it was in the aughts.

What was that about a few hundred miles to the east? Somebody is grumpy that he’s home from his big trip.

I made 2 trips to Alta/Bird that season. Seemed like it it just wouldn't quit snowing. Absolute choker blower each trip.

The memories are somehow sweeter in the knowledge that we were capitalizing on big/old/diy’s misery.

Very sad that you find glee in other's alleged suffering. FTR, I suffered no misery that season.

It's only one (left) knee, and I'll be trading it in for a new one in September.

I never would have guessed that after your repeated reminders of how horrible it was. Thank you for setting the record straight, my conscience is relieved.

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

How about less rain? Oh wait, that was what I was here to celebrate before the old men had to remind us how bad things were back in their day.
