Hopefully we won't have a foot of basal facets to deal with on the east slopes after this warm up.

WTF? What dude? Nobody in my party. If you're talking about Tye Peak several years ago, there were at least 2 other parties up there. This is the first time I've heard that you got kicked off TAY for anything related to me or my party. FTR, I don't look at TAY much.
Whatever. Back to bellyaching about rain

Just tuning in...
Has anyone mentioned how this rain will be great for the base, yet?

I only caught a glance, but it looked like that steep-ish face skier's right of Alpine & skier's left of what used to be upper Central Park slid to the ground sometime early this morning.
So I'd say, great!
Can we change "Dropping" to "Dripping" in this thread's title? At least until the warm tap shuts off again?Last edited by pipedream; 11-20-2017 at 04:44 PM.

It's been unreal up north this past week. Coverage rivals Christmas most years, and since there hasn't been pronounced slide cycles yet, everything is steep, ramped and cliffy instead of chutes and flutes.
A+, would live this week again

Snow in the PNW 17-18: Dropping!
I’m just waiting for the “17 feet on Rainier!!!” clickbaitsummitpointforecastbullshit link to go up. That’s my favorite.

"5-10" of rain in the cascade mountains with the olympics getting more"
It's good for the base, right?

gonna be driving 1k miles south for the holiday and was hoping to stop in ashland for some mellow skin laps or shuttle laps on the bike to break up the drive. But all the snow on mt ashland melted out, and it looks like its just gonna be pissing rain and blowing hard and i dont think a wet and muddy boyfriend and dog will go over well with the GF for the next 6 hours of the drive. Fuck.
