Gonna give the Lyman on Chiwawa a go this weekend. I've never been up there. Anybody have any input?

1.)Very popular TH/area... expect parking to be an issue if it's a weekend. Most are headed to Spider Meadow. Once you get over the gap there won't be many people.
2.)Several friends of mine skied up there in the couple weeks, looks like the effort to DH ratio is good... over 2k vert of skiing. Look up @jensholsten on instagram, he's got some pictures posted recently of the skiing.
3.)Trail in is easy, don't need boots, trail runners will suffice. Lots of water once you get to Spider Meadow.

The annoyance is the random blog post about my plans.
My only reasoning behind one more chinook pass tour is that Muir isnt going anywhere - *insert glacier joke*, as Im going to hit Muir no matter what either this month or August. I should possibly consider some North Cascade spots rather than going back to chinook if I want to go somewhere else but I atleast know where there are some lines to be had not to far from the road (just need to route find).
Are crevasses on Paradise Glacier that much bigger concern than on muir?
A Nasqually Rockfall doesnt sound fun,so Ill stay away

It isn't particularly clear from the above if you understand that Muir isn't a glacier and doesn't have crevasses.
Muir - There are sometimes holes and cracks late season and someone died last year (?) falling into a water fall/stream under the snow pack.
Yes there is very real crevasse danger on the Paradise glacier. I really don't think it's a good idea to wander around out there (your first time?) alone. We know you're keen, excited and anxious to explore but if your gaper* ass falls itself into a crevasse you are going to die. In a really, really unpleasant, and probably slow lonely way.
Yep we understand you're planning on going later this summer... but it pretty much becomes the only logical game in town every summer and you're going to probably go there a lot more in the future so start now.
Stick to the Muir snowfield, please? But don't bother unless it is forecast to be mostly clear, wandering around on Rainier in even summertime bad weather is not recommended.
And the Nisqually is a great ski... but not this time of year.
*said with kindness and concern.
And TAY would be a great place to find company for the day.

I wasnt aware if it was similar to Palmer in the the lower parts (like the resort area) is a snow field and the upper reaches a glacier.
Paradise Glacier seemed liked it had a an approach I like but yes, any crevasse danger is a no go.

That is what summer is about in the cascades in my mind.
The subalpine wildflowers are absolutely gorgeous!
My Muir trip will have to be delayed but this certainly excites me.

The avalanche lilys are probably my favorite wild flower. the newly open meadows with the stretches of white and gold.
