Yes I should have gone all the way out on my second trip but I wanted to hydrate at midway. Saw your group getting on the Liberator at that time. Forgot my credit card again and had to go to the bottom anyway where I heard a MR employee gushing about bowl 4 and Chak Chak.

Baker's a crazy series of hills, loved the drive up too. Just pulling into that lot on this bluebird day, 360* of mountains to ogle, plastered a big fahkin grin on my face, stayed all day. Too much a JONG to get some of these lines but i enjoyed eyeing up everything and seeing some people send it from the lift.
Ok, so SOME clouds showed up at the end of the day, but the morning was spotless.
Scene seems solid, liked the pups in the parking lot.
Great first day skiing the PNW. I know it wasn't really anything by Baker standards, but that sorta drove home the point that y'all have it good.
Oh, and a huge thank you to ericrayl for letting me borrow some sticks!!! They look far too core for my skiing ability but i kiiinda like it.

Really good skiing on steeper north aspects today at Mission. 4" or more of facets over a soft base made for great turns. Small pockets of sensitive windslab with surface facets running fast.

nukin for the dummy downhill. Not surprising considering Kim Jong Un wearing a Donald Trump t-shirt.

Went to Bluewood today with Paterero and our ladies and had a pretty darn good time there. Skied pow, and never waited in a single line all day. Fun little hill. Emphasis on the "little" part.

Back again asking for more suggestions (thanks everyone for the help about Schweitzer earlier this season)
I'm super behind the ball for my Easter plans, and all the huts in BC are booked full. So I'm coming here for help--
Is there anything in the northern cascades (preferably east side, but open to all suggestions) where you can spend 2 nights snow camping or sleeping in your car and have decent backcountry skiing?
Blue lake area is what mostly pops up when I search for this, but information is sparse and I'd like to know more about it, or any other suggestions.
We have varying ability in our group, so I'm not looking for extreme skiing. I'm thinking something similar to if you were to go to Lassen National park in the spring--lots of bowls and open skiing with nothing too crazy.
Thanks!

^^^the Pass opens on a different day every year. Check WSDOT for updates. They plow to Silver Star gate first, so you could camp near there and ski that area first if it’s not plowed through, and your plans are set.

The skiing at Mission was still great yesterday. Snow was still dry in the shade and steeper north facing terrain. Shot 6 in Microwave was very nice settled pow and stayed that way over the moraine and into Sugar bowl trees. The only snow that got sloppy was steeper terrain in full sun and down close to the lot. Full on graupel storm after noon. Pellets the size of peas. Looks like a nice refresh Wednesday into Friday with cold temps for the weekend.

How much longer will Mission be open? Would love to get the family over there this year.
