Nude photos without the subjects knowledge and or permissions

Is TGR ok with people posting nude pictures of people without their knowledge or permission?

    It looks like they are.

How do we know it's without their permission?

Some people get off on other people seeing their nude pictures.

You don't know. It just looks like it is likely that they don't.

Is the risk to the women worth these guys getting off?

That's the question. Is it likely some of the pictures are posted without permission?

    Yes.

Is it worth it? Where does TGR stand?

So do you want them to sign model reLeases? Look deeply into the camera? No nudes at all? Where do you stand?

If a user posts a nude with missing or unsettled context do you assume the picture is taken and posted without permission?

I don't know about TGR but I am against anyone posting nudes pics on any public site without express or implied permission by the subject. IMO it's a simple matter of respect.

But does the consent need to be stated by the poster?

You’re likely to get trolled on this, maybe hard, but i’d bet that pretty much everyone here (aka TGR) knows and feels it’s not acceptable. And there are probably laws about it in a lot of places.

But instead of asking obviously trolling or leading questions about it, it might be more productive to just state your case.
And I guess that I just don't know

How about putting some responsibility on the person being photographed?

She must be aware that there is a chance that their picture will end up on the internet.

If they are stupid enough to let some asshole take their naked picture...

^ ^ ^ Blame the victim much? Sometimes a BF takes a nude pic of his GF under circumstances under which the GF has the reasonable belief that the nude pic is to be kept private by the BF. Sometimes, e.g., after they break up, the BF posts the pic on a website, sometimes to shame his ex or get revenge for getting dumped. That would be a case where there is no consent, express or implied. IMV the GF cannot be blamed one bit in those circumstances.

Not sure what you mean. Only the subject can provide consent, of course. Are you asking whether the poster need to state that he or she has permission to post the nude? That would not be practicable where the subject has obviously given implied consent, e.g., a nude pic of a professional nude model that has been published elsewhere.

Yes. If the subject of the nude is not looking directly at the camera, and the nude is posted without comment, there is no way to know whether consent was provided. Thus, is the suggestion to require stated consent with nudes?

So, you're saying that the poster must acknowledge that he or she has consent to post even if the pic is of a professional nude model or professional porn entertainer? That would be impracticable, and in most of those cases consent is implied.

And if the posting is of a pic of a non-pro taken in a private setting (see my example above) what good is a statement by the poster claiming that he received consent to post? A creep who posts a nude pic taken in a private setting with the implied understanding of privacy, and then posts it publicly, is the kind of creep who would lie about getting consent.

No. The photo mtngirl references is not a professional work. See below.

Precisely. mtngirl assumes the subject of the nude in question has not given consent without knowing for sure; i.e., "looks like" nudes are being posted without permission. She wants the picture removed based on this assumption. How is consent determined if not stated specifically, and would it even matter if consent was specifically stated given the real truth could be different?

You miss my point. Just because a guy claims that he got consent does not prove actual consent. That is, a requirement that the poster merely claim that he has consent is not a means to accurately "determine" (your word) that he actually has consent. If a creep posts a pic of his ex-GF without consent, he is likely to lie. Creeps do creepy things then lie about them.

If there is a specific post (or multiple posts) in question I would encourage you to use the report post functionality. Any clear or even borderline case of posting inappropriate personal information would be reviewed and discussed. Otherwise, see the Roolz thread.

Itís a private site and they arenít my rules. Reported posts are reviewed. I donít really have time (and I doubt anyone else does) to read every thread, so I donít know what the OP is in reference to. Iím not spending my Sunday on a wild goose chase to find maybe one post that maybe offended maybe one person.

I'm fairly sure it's the entire Plea to Ullr thread.

Then you say there is no way to truly know if consent was given. So now mtngirl says a picture should be removed because, according to her, consent may not have been given. How do you (the general you) decide if the picture should be removed?

So women should make sure there are no phones or other cameras around before being naked/intimate with someone who might take a picture.

Women also must never allow themselves or photograph themselves for intimate partners when it is expressed that photos are not to be shared?

Really? Is that the world you want? Rather than expect men to behave like decent people rather than sex crazed apes?

It's a matter of what you think is more important.

Women being free from having their pictures posted on the internet without consent or men being free to look at private pictures of women posted by others with no way to verify consent.

Pretty sure what is more important to most of you.

Freedom of the individual is only respected when it benefits the person with the upper hand. It's a farce and the source of the most extreme hypocrisy in America today.
