No, the golden thing is just a little west of the Guggenheim. The happy guy on the horse is on the front porch of the Guggenheim, just, out there.
I'm done with Venice. I went to Torcello on the vapporetto, and passed the cemetery, and thought, damn, must be interesting in there. Next time.

That pizza bar could almost be any truck stop in Italy. JHC food sucks in the US comparatively.
Well maybe I'm the faggot America

Wow, I was wondering why all the long faces and a cranky cab driver. Italy just failed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1958. Walking on eggs here.

Valopacella?
Never heard of that grape so had to google it, turns out to be a road in Verona and a topic on TGR, you mean Valpolicella...
Not a wine snob, but I like the wines from Tuscany, ask the waiter for these, if you can see the bottles choose one of the oldest style with thickest glass, this usually means it'll be a small operation producing high quality. You can get the softest, silky reds you've ever tasted in your life.
Don't go cheap on food and drink in Italy, the quality ramps up quicker than anywhere else I know.
Oh, yeah, ask 'em which is better NYC pizza or Chicago DD! watch their faces!
Don't remind them about the World Cup, they will be in shock, just shrug and say 'non capisco'

Was going to say it's been way too long since I was in Italy, then realized I spent a day there last year--but it was in relatively industrial Sestriere so didn't feel too much like Italy. A nice little village or two on the road to France, but nothing like what Benny has gotten himself into. He is doing it right.
DD has apparently spent far too much time consuming the finest cuisine Minneapolis has to offer.[quote][//quote]
