"A Gnarly Sidestep" video by Spooky and mntlion

this is the video that spooky put into "rockies shred fest" this fall (local video party in banff). First 2:00 is his edit for the year, after that is a line I've been looking at for 10+ years that we skied this spring. First time its been done I think? First time I've seen it filled in enough for me to try.

Wow. Were you in-bounds for that? Also, did you consider bringing any lines to belay?

That screen grab (of spooky?) exhaling tells a good story.

    Well done.

Its mostly inbounds, but patrol was not really expecting anyone to go in, so didn't close it. Its also usually not remotely skiable due to typical rockies snow.

no ropes, plan was to boot pack up, and skiers right, if we got stranded

yes, I'm in yellow with black helmet (and pompom) spooky is a little gripped at times

    thanks

That is seriously sporty. Do you have to have custom pants made to accommodate the massive brass balls?

    I held my breath a few times...nice!!!
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.
