I'll take 10 days exactly like Wednesday March 4th, 2015 at Aspen Mountain.

I was once heliskiing at Mike Wiegele’s during a week in which a small group of skiers established a new daily vertical record of 353,600 (this would be the equivalent of skiing from the summit of Vail ski area down to town, 102.5 numbers of times). One of the skiers in the record setting group was Dominique Perrett (famous Swiss extreme skier – Mount Everest, etc.), and a couple of days afterwards he was in my group for the day. There was also another gentleman in the group who was a regular client and very “vertically obsessed.” To him more vertical was better.
Eventually during the lunch break, Dominique asked “Mr. Vertically Obsessed” this question. “Which would you rather ski, 50,000 vertical feet in “shity conditions” or 25,000 vertical feet in chest deep cold smoke powder?” Mr. Vertically Obsessed replied, “How shity of conditions?” And he was serious.

I do’nt know, I think this is a pretty quality discussion honestly. Just started a music thread that I think should have some quality reccomendations. When I go skiing this winter, I will provide some stoke.
I’m not blessed enough to have any current stoke, so I just try to start fun, interesting discussions.
Now answer the question, dang it.

Your gonna enjoy them 10 pristine pow days much more if ya skied them other 90
As a ski bum you wake bake n ski
Some days it's better than others
Best to try n ski as many as ya can
And set yourself up to try n take advantage of the better ones
If ya don't believe me
Well you'll only be a year older

I have to say that cold smoke prefer doesn't do much for me, at least compared to Sierra medium density powder.
But I like to ski all conditions. For me, terrain is more important than conditions.
I would rather ski a steep couloir in wind affected snow, or heated up powder or slush than ski cold powder, low to medium angle in Japan.
Now if said couloir is icy, not do much. I do have a strong self presentation instinct.

I meant self preservation instinct, but Android disagreed with me.

I mean I like storm skiing and heavy surfy pow as much as the next guy but I can assure you, untracked bottomless 5% blower in the sun is definitely "all it's cracked up to be" and the fact that you think otherwise makes me wonder if you have ever actually skied in those kind of conditions.

I've skied Blower pow days over my head and had a shit load of fun. But some of the funniest stories/memories come from skiing in the rain, ice crust layer on top of 12" of pow, sun cupped glaciers skiing in a Hawaiian shirt... so I'll take 100 days vs 10 any year.

There's a reason most ski movies with steep terrain are filmed in Alaska and not Colorado.
Wetter snow sticks to steep faces, much stepper than Continental climate snow.
You can also go a lot faster in medium density snow, because your skis build a platform easier.
And avie danger is a lot lower.
