My favorite is New Haven-style. It's more similar to New York in that it's thin crust, but they tend to heat the ovens even hotter so you get a singed bottom layer of crust and then soft/gooier upper layer. The heat makes the cheese bubbly.

If you want a fat plate of cheese, starch and grease, skip the deep dish and get a lasagna.

This is easily the best pizza I've ever had with no close comparisons. Well worth the 1hr+ wait for each pie...and I normally tend to refuse waiting in lines.

NEw Haven is a great call. A nice CT clam pie is a tier one ‘za for sure.

IMHO, adding the bitter, overwhelming flavor of burnt toast doesn't help a pie. There's a reason nobody seriously discusses "New Haven Style" or any scorched wood fired oven pie as the best. Burnt crust is just a straight up pizza fail, not a flavor bonus.

Unless you've been to Italy it's difficult to know what a superior pizza tastes like. It's more than the dough it's the sauce, cheese and toppings together with the right ovens.
When a place has Pizzaiolo's and uses double zero flour from Italy then you get very close to a real Italian pizza. We are lucky to have many places like that in the Toronto area. Not cheap mind you.

I may seem to be a pizza snob but I'm not. I like Hawaiian pizza and north American style as well as long as it tastes good. That's really what it comes down to. As long as you like it. It just nice to have options !

That looks burnt and over cooked. Not sure what the bottom of the crust looks like, but edge of crust would be tossed out that black.

Chicago style pizza vs New York style pizza

Chicago style is gross. FWIW a Dallas transplant invented Chicago style deep dish pizza. Only a Texan would be arrogant enough to think they could improve pizza.

Shit look at what they did to Mexican food. Tex-mex is equally gross.
