    2017/2018 Jackson Hole/Targhee/Tetons thread

It is snowing, media 310 is probably writing shitty blogs, its time to ski. Probably 75 cars at the Ghee yesterday, it didn't suck.

I ski there almost every year. Last year was epic. I left just before the shutdown in Feb or March. Great conditions. My business partner got screwed on timing and was stuck during the shutdown.

Best time of year is when my inbox starts blowing up with daily updates from BTNF avalanche center. I was particularly surprised to read this in last night’s update:

“Of the 23 years where historic data is available for November 6th, this year’s snow depths at the Rendezvous Bowl study plot are the highest on record.”

They say that every year. Marketing dept must run the avalanche center.

Coworker told me they'll try to have Blackfoot spinning in addition to DC and Sac. Sound like patrol is short staffed this year so they got some work to do this week.

A good way to get more info on the snowpack. I subscribed so when a new video comes out I’ll get a peak into what is going on out there.

Is it worth making the trip this weekend to Grand Targhee from the front range? There's no snow down here and I am tempted to go get some powder.

Looks like it's going to start nuking later this week. I'm going to be up there this weekend ... but I have a short drive, not +-12 hours. See ya there? ;-)

So no more T-day opening? I guess Saturday is day #1 .

Looking forward to a strong season- just like last year.

Teton mags - I'm new to driggs and looking for touring partners - pass, park, targhee backcountry, etc.

Am experienced in the backcountry, have taken a level 1 a few years ago and am taking a level 2 in jackson in mid-january. Am fit/motivated and up for long days and/or big vert.

Am off work and looking to ski most Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Shoot me a PM if you'd like to get out. Cheers!

    Hey, while you're here reading...

from your boot & foot expertise/experience , do you have a recommendation for a doctor in town (or nearby.. IF, SLC???) who has experience with & understands skier/athlete foot issues? I'm self-diagnosing a possible stress fracture, no idea who to go see.

    Thanks in advance.

Coming up from Aspen. Will be wearing white sweet protection helmet, Kastle 194 mx 98 or blizzard bodacious in black, depending on how deep it is.

had a fun 1st day of the season at Targhee this weekend with one of my besties, Angela (on the snowboard)
the coverage was excellent. the day started out sunny then got foggy Targhee-style.
saw a funny sticker this w/e in one of the on mtn bathrooms that said "If you can see, it ain't the Ghee"
