Curious what TGR thinks of this business model
Any tri-state folks remember Hidden Valley, NJ? They tried to sell it on EBay for a dollar in hopes that someone would come in and recap the $3 MM or so of debt to operate it?
Well apparently, while they couldn’t raise $3 mm to operate it for profit, they found a smattering of nonprofit players to put an additional $12 mm in it to run this:

This business model strikes me as bizarre. It’s meant to serve underprivileged youth, but requires a commitment of $450 and 7 weekends for the purpose of getting these kids into a sport that will only get more expensive from there.
I get why THEY would rather do this than the traditional “$60 starter package,” (smoother, more committed funding) but I just don’t see where the demand will come from.
Also, I miss night skiing and my $150 season pass at Hidden Valley. No gnar was harmed in the writing of this post...
