FWIW, I'm pretty sure the data for that map is collected aerially, so the resolution is not very fine and doesn't account for highly localized variations. But yes.. Magic is very deep right now.

Anyone got a decent report from Gore or Whiteface? I want to head up this weekend. Was planning on killington. I know conditions are good there but I've been interested in Gore's woods in good cover for a while.

Agreed. The sheer depth of the snowpack March-April 2001 was mind-boggling. There was stuff above treeline that normally was 6-10' tall evergreen forest. Tree wells were lurking everywhere.

We’ve had 5 feet of snow at WF in the past 7 days. 3 feet in the past 24 hours. It’s good. Real good. Everything is game on. Woods are knee to waist deep.

Might hit Gore tomorrow just because the woods are so freaking fun. Their trail count is also wide open.

Pick your poison, you can’t go wrong either way!

I went down that hairy trail the one time I was at Wildcat. Unfortunately there wasn't that much snow. It was probably closed for a reason that day .
Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Southern VT may be comparable but the north end still has a long way to go.

The winter of 2000-2001 was amazing in that there was barely a major thaw all winter (this year we've had two) which was then capped off by a HUGE March. Jay was ridiculously deep. Sections of the Jet triple had areas roped off since the snow pack was so deep, there wasn't enough room to safely ski under the chair. The glades got difficult to ski because you were skiing in the canopy of the forest. Just nutty all around.

Compare (It looks like this year has yet to be updated after the latest storm)...

Skiing is awesome, but much less snowpack than last year. Pattern is remarkably similar!

    Yeah Lynchy!

    Nice pics VTF.

I did not get one pic yesterday. Haven't gone bell to bell in a long time with such a strong group. Lost track of face shots. Nice first day riding an ec lift this season. Skied to the car and cracked some Heady's to top off a great day.

Today I cannot really walk or sit down without crying a little.

I saw a photo yesterday and it was sitting right below 8’. I imagine that it crossed 100” overnight.

Killington is empty today! Skiing is way better than yesterday. Drier and whatnot. Just lapped skiers right, lower Ovation! $$$

Stoke level in this thread must have a similar pattern. Looks good now!

Did not come down with powderitis this week unfortunately, but managed to get in a sweet night shred w the bros at bromont. Good depth there, but despite that, I always leave that place an organic base grind. #everyboardarockboard

I always thought that run was called Ovulation so there were certain times of the month I never would ski that thing. You're telling me that's not the case and it's ok to ski anytime?

Overordered at the shop or are they really that good? I'm not into tail rocker so I'm thinking they're not my cup of tea, more of noodley Rog type ski?

Rog doesn't ski noodly skis. He likes wood core, metal, and camber.

3 Feet since last week....typical over-inflated Kton numbers! Those Snowgun hoses were fully exposed last Wednesday when I was lapping Ovi (and SS LiftLine.) The Ovi Sapling side + Powder is just pure bliss.
