My apologies. Was not viewing the photos with that lens on. See everyone's point now.

    Thanks!

I kind of stumbled onto that view of the often photographed main barn of the Inn at Mountain View on Darling Hill. I was taking a shot from next to the road and noticed the small area of ponding melt water. I went over closer and as I tried to get the reflection of the entire barn I stepped a few inches too far on what looked like snow and sank up to my knee in slush. Well at that point my shoe was filled with water, so I went full send and waded out into the cold slush. Luckily the sun kept the rest of my body nice and toasty.

I would ask for less punchy woods, but still a stellar late April day.

The east coast gets the warmth and the West finally looks cold and snowy. Tahoe is finally looking up. Any of you regulars head to Tahoe let me know.

Yea I hear you, don't need a boot top fracture.
A good three feet + on the Cliff trail. Only bad spot was transfer to Nosedive where a bunch of pebbles were ripped up where kooks hockey stop. Coverage way better than I can see at the bush.

Good size crew from Mass[flatlanders] had a great party going on, I packed a nice snack or I might have tried to "Benny" a burger. K Spring Skiing is coming, going to bring the smoker a few prime weekends this year.

Smuggs was a blast today before the liquid came in around 2:00 despite m1 not spinning. Pic on the way up 108 at 11:30ish. Temp was 44° when I left at 2:30.

Pretty grim at the glen today

The recent warm-up came to an abrupt end overnight and the mountain is gripping up pretty good as temps fell overnight. The last couple of days have definitely taken their toll on the snowpack. Our operational plan for Thursday is to open the Practice Slope at Noon. The delayed opening will allow the remaining snow to set up before we put machines on it. The plan is to release the cats up on the main hill to see if they can piece together some trails for the weekend. Ancillary service departments will be opening at 11:30 this morning. Conditions will remain “fluid" the next few days so be sure to stay tuned for updates and be sure to keep an eye on things

Yesterday there wasn’t really a way down that didn’t cross ice boils that took up the entire width of the trail or bare spots. With the high temps you could hockey stop on it and pretend you were water skiing. Probably not much fun after a refreeze.

Early next week is looking better with the temps hovering around 40 and sun. I'll be out there Monday enjoying some (hopefully) soft turns.

Good to know the danger has past. It was touch and go here yesterday. This wet slide almost took out my 5 year old!
