    Donkey Kong!

It looks pretty up there right now, it's snowing.

Lots of peeps like to hate Killington but the newish management team there totally gets it. On previous opening days, I've showed up, showed them my retired military ID card and they hand me an Express Card gratis and say it counts for opening day pass. And they let me ski free on Veterans Day. I'll probably be there Friday and maybe Saturday but I don't know if free skiing on a short low intermediate trail crawling with jongs is worth the 50 minute drive from Londonderry.

It's going to be a festive week. Many lifts spinning by the weekend.

Killington’s management are such ballers. They open first, close last and have totally changed over their image/vibe from only a few years ago. I envy K in so many ways, and I love what they do for the skiers of the northeast. Sure it can be a zoo, but that’s what being the first on the block gets you. I won’t be going anytime soon but that’s just a function of crowds, which will disperse in the next few weeks. Can’t knock what K is accomplishing, that’s for sure!

Even MRG is capitalizing on the temps and blowing snow at the base. Should help them open up a little sooner after a decent dump or two up high.

Checking in! I'm excited for this season. New baby on the way in January, so it will probably be an early season and spring type of year for me. We got passes again for Pats Peak. Good spot for the 7 year old.

Pro tip: Lodge baby. Mr and Mrs get to ski a day this way, exchanging a couple laps for baby duty in the lodge. Raised both our little ones like this. Everybody wins (except for people nearby in lodge when new baby has a diaper blowout.) But who cares about them.. you'll have a newborn in the lodge and you both get to ski/ride. Win/Win.

The Blackline looks like a daycare most weekend days with all the M^2s around these days. OG, Radam, Kokomas, Magicsnowboard, Marcus Brody... more too, and lots of Mags with kids at Grom age as well. Lodge babies grow up rad and mom & dad get runs in- there’s no denying the benefits!

Mountain daycare is a nice option. My wife and I put our little one in daycare at Wildcat then head across the street and ski Washington for the day then pick her up for beers at the end of the day. Nice mid winter option when sitting on a lift is too cold to bother.
