Mrs P just decided that we are going to the movies after all. Sorry for the fake out.

Someone hook up this west coast mag with a tour, please. If not get off red and head over to Talisman. Swing back to red and check out Goniff Glade. 3rd run down Twilight Zone. If you are warm and ready to show off, rip red line, right under the chair.

Vets, you are an animal. If you want the real vintage experience, do your night skiing in jeans and no hat.

Did Vets get the mag connect at Magic today? Hope so.

Cheers to all of you who got out today. I built the fire at 11am this morning (as an excuse to not be able to leave the house) and have otherwise done nothing (I love you Winter Classic!). Too cold even for nordic on my scale.

Happy New Year to all youze jabronies.

I felt like I was skiing at my own private resort. On some runs I saw no one else from the top to the bottom.
I'd love to return here on a powder day.
I also enjoyed some apre ski gumbo in the Black Line Tavern.

Yowza. The fact that I don't have a pass anywhere makes the decision a little easier.

This is what I had at 9 this morning after it had started to warm up. It is already -18 and school is delayed 2 hours tomorrow morning. Has anyone seen the forecast for Saturday?

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

I bet you'd like to see your local areas that crowded wouldn't ya? Yeah it pretty much kills it on a fresh day. Glad you had a good time at one of our favorite playgrounds.

Sorry I missed you. Didn't realize you were stopping by--I was out on the training hill all afternoon with the kids and probably walked right by you a few times in the lodge (was wearing Magic Training Center jacket--on top of two other jackets).

Woulda enjoyed breaking away to show you around. LMK if you get back here.

Sorry I missed you too. I'll be heading to Sugarbush today.

Sugarbush is a great hill. Stop by MRG (if you're not planning on skiing there) afterward just to have a look at the single chair, etc. It's just a few minutes out of the Sugarbush access road. Enjoy!

Damn! Wish I had seen you were coming, I wasn’t skiing but could have hooked you up with somebody for sure. Lots to see around these here parts!

We had a call yesterday that was a good reminder to slow the fuck down.

This truck ended up 30’ down the embankment on its roof in the frozen river.

Luckily the driver self extricated and there were no injuries.

^^Holy shit, that's scary. -27 here in VT this morning and there was plenty of black ice on the roads. I don't think I've seen air temps this cold before.

Got a little cabin fever yesterday and took a few runs at Sugarbush despite the temps. The place was a ghost town and snow was great. Winds were whipping and the lifts kept stopping and starting even though I stuck to the lower mountain. I was stuck on Gate House lift for about 15 minutes - after that it was beer time. Really hoping this cold breaks so I can get my 2 year old out on skis but that's not going to happen any time soon.

Was the driver <18yo by any chance? I know one knucklehead who did this exact thing yesterday and I'm guessing that's his truck right there.

Glad the driver made it out OK. Saw a similar rollover on 89 last week after a brief squall dusted the road just enough for everything to ice over.

After the next upcoming deep dive in to the freezer it looks like we actually get back to some more seasonal temps and chances for a refresh or two, yes please! Inching further west with new data, getting more interesting for later this week.
