Just got in the door after the long drive home from Jay Peak and three days of skiing. Tramside is offline for the season but the Jet, Taxi and Bonaventure chairs ran all weekend, which gave plenty of options. If you are up for hiking, the Vermonter is fully covered and even some lines off the summit ridge look good to go. Given the mild weather, the snow-blown groomer runs were the best choice but we were pleasantly surprised to find full coverage on natural snow runs like Kitzbuhel and Derrick Hot-Shot. There was even a line on Power Line but we didn't take it. We did venture into Timbuktu and found lots of coverage but VERY heavy snow. Brush up on your jump turns for glade skiing.

After a few weeks out west working on the road, got up to Tucks this weekend. Got up a bit late for the ideal snow, anything out of the steepest parts was thick boot top slush but ended up being a gorgeous day and we even snuck in a summit push, which was the first time I'd been to the top on my own feet somehow.

Nice day on Saturday to close out the lift served Bush season for me. Walked around a bit and hit things for the hell of it because its almost May and coverage is still insane. This is from just after the stream on Middle Earth, which was the only portage.

But got me to the road to cut up and over rather than the walk of shame out of Castlerock. Decided on a little more up and Birch Run to Waterfall was perfect corn.

Looks like this morning was probably pretty good. The 11.1" on George is 1.27" H2O equivalent and ~30 mph winds, hopefully it bonds nice. Great stoke in here, what an April!

Could be great if there's still coverage up in the snowfields to carpool some mags up and get a few laps up top then party! I'll keep my eyes on the coverage...

Nice! Funny, I had skied from the cone down many times and never went to the actual summit on my feet until years later during the summer when I was paid to do it. Never had the urge to go above the ski line I guess.

The easties should be good thru the end of the month unless we hit 80 degrees up there...and with the weather lately who the hell knows.

You'll have to do some walking especially after the 70 degree temps at the end or the week but the down climb isn't so bad. More snow on the road going up so you'll be able to skin from father down than you'll be able to ski down at the end or the day

Good times on Mt Washington it seems. Scheduling conflicts has caused me to miss out so far. May have to settle for some Otto GG laps later this month.

In MRV news, picked up lot #69 [The Kentucky Kid] yesterday as yet another historic Valley business falls. Nice wagon wheel table, I had a great 50th birthday dinner with some Mags on this very table. Building is going to be converted to 3 apartments. Also across the street the Slide Brook Lodge had their closing party last month and are closing as well.
