    ON3P Steeple 116 - 184

    ***SOLD***

These are a "special" pair of Steeple 116's. Same shape and length as the stock version, but with a different layup. As I understand it, it's basically a Billgoat core with a lighter weight block under the binding. So it skis more like a Billygoat, but weighs the same as the regular Steeple.

I have not personally skied these - bought them, and then decided to go in a different direction with the quiver. They have one mount for Dynafit Rad 2's, I think for a 311 bsl.

Skis have less than 10 days on them. A couple of topsheet scratches and knicks around the tails. Bases are essentially perfect.

$400 + shipping. I have some cut to fit Mohair BD skins I can include for $50 too.

It rotated my photos. I didn't ask it to do that. I blame Dunfee.

Long shot but any chance you'd want to trade for an undrilled pair of 181 Down CD 104s? Could add money if necessary.

Hmmm, those look nice, but I think I've got that quiver spot covered.

Here's a pic of the mount holes. Once again, rotated for no apparent reason.

Center line is right around 9.75 inches on the tape.

Where did they come from and who spun you that yarn about their layup? I'm interested in them, but I've also been involved in the production of skis using various constructions, and I have never heard anyone call anything a "block under the binding" before reading this thread, so WTF is going on with the layup of these skis?

Once we get that ironed out, and I can verify that Look Pivots won't conflict with those holes, I want these babies. Seems like a perfect compliment to a Skinny Q.

Pretty sure these are a prototype ST 116 w/ Paulownia/Bamboo hybrid core & a solid bamboo mounting plate underfoot for screw retention (similar mounting plate style you see on Factions and other skis using Bcomp cores).

So for clarity - core material underfoot is denser, not lighter weight. Rest of the core is a lighter weight hybrid - though the majority of it is still bamboo.
Seriously, this can’t turn into yet another ON3P thread....

You learn something new every day. Cool. stuff.

Is the flex on these in the ballpark of the Steeple 116/BG in terms of stiffness and pattern?

Honestly, off the top of my head can't remember - but when we prototype we try to only change one thing at a time, so my guess would be it is just a Steeple 116 profile/layup with a different core (as discussed above).

Ooh, glad I poked into this thread. Can you weigh them? Very very highly interested, depending on the weight.

I would really appreciate it if somebody would buy these skis flat so I can buy those skins. It snowed last night and I'm getting nervous about missing out on some early season skiing.
