Recommend me a car scraper
I'm actually surprised there isn't a thread on this (maybe there is but I just don't have the magic words for the TGR search function?)
I'm sick and tired of getting bad car scrapers. Seems like such a crap shoot when you're picking one up from the auto store or target or wherever. I've had $6 ones work great and last me years and $25 ones never work at all.
I don't live on the east coast, so I don't need industrial scraping capabilities, all I'm looking for is something with a long handle, a brush for snow and a scraper that can get through normal/moderate levels of ice that build up overnight on a car.
What's the maggot wisdom on this?

They hand em’ out like candy at the docs office in Big Sky. Makes me feel like we are going to have a BIG winter.

I like the free ones. Also the ones that show up after years of hiding. Ask the guys at the Subaru tent, the ones they have are alright.

Seem like you already know exactly what you want, don't need us to hold your hand while you search it out.

I got this one as swag at a ski shop clinic some years back, and it's the best one I've ever had. It's lasted a long time but it's getting worn now, so I'll be watching this thread. Mostly though I just wanted to spray about how cool I think this swag is.

I keep an extra one by the door for mornings. Having to pre wipe so all the snow doesn't sluff in trying to get the damn brush sucks. I can't be expected to remember to bring it in every night. Just trying to remember to turn my wipers off is enough.

College IDs used to work real nice also. I cycle the old one to under the passenger seat so they can earn their way.
A snowy windshield is a great place to hide a Smirnoff Ice.
I can not believe I have not thought of the re-sharpening before, so simple. I usually wait until my scrapers looks a little Hardwick, then replace.

What makes a good car scrapper:
- Telescopic pole
- Solid plastic scrapper material
- Rotating brush on the opposite end, 2 positions
- Foam handle

Brass blade scrapes much better than plastic. Snow Joe or Icebreaker.
