Is it worth a 2.5 hr drive to the bird or alta with the little fresh inbound. Pocatello is lean this year.....Looking at a day assault for tomorrow.

In before skidog says its not.

Could be good if we get the high end. Set expectations low and you won't be disappointed.

    And bring rock skis.

I agree it could be good. 8" or more and it'll probably be nice. I might head up myself.

    All skis are rock skis

Rode the tram and stood next to Wild Bill my last tram ride and run at JH before heading home. Didn't know who he was. Just figured he was a lifelong JH shredder just from the way he carried himself. He was teasing a young skier next to him who seemed to be a bit too serious. I don't think the millennial knew what to make of Bill. If I had known who I was standing next to, I would have asked to tag along for a run. Not that I could have kept up with him but still...

Holy shit, Alta reporting 17” in last 12 hours. Damn. I wish I could have gotten out of the office today. Looks like I’ll be skiing tomorrow though.

Heads up. Had a pair of skis stolen today at Solitude. 184 moment deathwish. Teal sidewall and "moment" lettering on the bottom. Fair bit of basework. Orange, black and white 916s. If any of you local mags sees this floating around, would be great. Have a police report filed.

Otherwise, solitude was incredible today. Esp. for a former tahoe guy jonging it up back on the east coast. Post skis getting stolen, the mountain ops, (patrol, ops, ski school director) were incredibly helpful and hooked me up with a pair of skis for the afternoon so I could get out again and soften the blow.

    **Edit**
Skis found at a local gear exchange shop. Someone desperate for another hit sold to them for $25.00. Anyway.

I was out of town this week for work and was supposed to fly home at 9 PM. Switched my schedule around, hopped an early flight with a free same day change, and made it to Alta by noon. This afternoon did not suck.

It's filled in enough that I'm just bouncing off the rocks instead of getting hung up in them.

Well the drive from Pocatello to Alta was well worth my time. 1st run was in the stonecrusher area was sick.
Total luck was hitting the opening of supreme bowl as patrol dropped the rope.

Best day of the year for me. Alta never disappoints

^^^ TH- Glad to hear you got paid in Alta. Having to choose between JH and Alta, what a first world problem. You must have split Pokey pretty early.

SLC mags- just crazy to hear you talking rocks in mid-Feb. Talk about taking one for the team.

trail breaking into grizzly was indeed a bit slow yesterday, then again, so am i. saw a lot of drifting. east bowl rode well but had to be mindful of sluffing. climb out, snow seemed to be well over a foot. s facing aspects rode more like a lot of heavy dust on crust releasing all over. upon returning to the car, saw 4" had fell in last 3 hours. spun a couple of hot laps at brighton last night with the little man. 11 degrees. heading to vegas for a soccer tourney, hope it nukes for yas.

Pretty dreamy out there yesterday afternoon. Raced the sun and was rewarded greatly! I'd call it the first legit pow day of the 2017-2018 season! Bwahahaha
