In CA, I've seen various 4wds and awds slide off roads. Did not inspect their tires, but assume that vehicle type almost always wears M+S, occasionally dedicated snows. Pretty funny watching a Subaru take the fall line across the road into the guardrail while creeping along at <5mph. Or a similar <5 mph slide and "crash" into a bus. Or stuck on the uphill sliding backward into ditch. Or spinning out at 30 into the guardrail (was onboard for this one, thought we were going over the cliff ). Or around the corner spinning into the snowbank. Amazing what ice can do. Maybe UPD has seen similar.
Come to think of, the turn into KW dumps a few weekend drivers into the meadow every time it snows. It's a running joke to bet how many cars/trucks/suvs we'll see in the meadow. Usually 1-2, best I've seen was 6.10/01/2012 Site was upgraded to 300 baud.

How is coverage in LCC/BCC? Will the upcoming storm make a dent in opening new terrain? Flying in Friday and trying to decide on sticking around or hitting the road to Jackson. Would be nice to avoid the drive if it's at least looking like "fun" at LCC or BCC.

I know exactly what happened as I spoke directly to the people involved...are you suggesting my information is not truthful for some reason? Have i lied in the past?

Every powder starved pass holder, ticket holder and local will crowd the Cottonwoods. Be careful out there, and that includes the travel.

M+S with the snowflake or just M+S? I wonder if they were checking for the snowflake.

If I recall correctly, folks here stated they were indeed turning away folks without the snowflake (even though the UDOT guidelines state M+S is acceptable). I always run snowflake rated winter tires, but I have a set of ATs I use in the summer that also are snowflake rated and they are hot garbage in the snow, plus they don't really "appear" to be siped to the degree a winter tire should, so I wouldn't be surprised if I got turned away for running them (which will never happen in the winter).
It always seemed to me that they actually looked at the tread and siping rather than looking at the writing on the sidewall.

I’ll be peeved if my 2-week-old all season M+S get turned away, should I pack chains or just plan on arguing? I’m in a new AWD vehicle known for being good in the snow too and going BCC so probably a non-issue....

Yeah mine are like 5k miles on some new rims I picked up second hand. M+S light truck tire (stock on new Tacoma's) Yokohama I believe. Tread is deep. I'll argue if/when time comes.
