Walked all the way up baldy in my skiboots and tagged main chute. Still snow up there. Maybe the most gorgeous day ever. Came home and took a nap with windowz open. Fitbit says between baldy and mowing grass Im 32000 steps into the day. Click image for larger version.

pretty ambitious for a resort that never reported more than a 20" base and closed the 1st week of march last season
wish em the best but mother natures gonna need to help with that plan

"We want to build a gondola through a roadless area, but it shouldn't be a big deal since we only want to build a few roads."

With that being said, gondolas to urban centers could be a great solution to traffic problems. Don't want to re-hash that argument though.

No matter how much they improve the lifts, and the "gondola" the 5400' base will still be a problem.

The proposed expansion includes a decent chunk of higher-elevation northeast-facing terrain. But I can't imagine the proposed terrain above North Ogden will ever be skiable except perhaps for a snowmaking WROD.

I'm trying to visualize where this will go.... So its going to be a full expansion of the east facing aspects of the Mtn Nordic is already on and then the west face that goes into the Ogden area???

Supposedly. I doubt this thing will ever get out of the public comment period. If it did, some of those NW facing steep trees would be pretty rowdy...for a month and a half a year.

The highest peaks and ridgelines in that area all barely crack 8,000 ft.

My office has a majestic view of Mt. Ogden. Just off of visual comparison, there was still snow on the W facing summit I look at every day this time in 2017. This year the snow was gone by early June.

Fack. While my observation was literally correct, that probably isn't high enough to make a lick of difference. I figured some of that stuff had to be a bit taller.

Is pondo gonna turn that hole-in-the ground to something liveable before the snow flies?
