pm corn cycle on point, 6pm for steep east facing was money (probably 1 hr of shade?). anything in the sun was barely supportable on the north half, maybe south half is all consolidated now idk. pretty out there. with a couple of very small dirt patch exceptions, red/white pine go continuously on skis to the bridge at the bottom, but they won't last much longer.

I finally hit Suicide Chute this morning. We started skinning around 6:00, switched to crampons and ice axe for the booter and made it to the top just before 8, with plenty of stops along the way. Much easier ascent than I had anticipated given I'm in mediocre shape. We waited until about 9:30 to drop in and the snow was good but not great. As mentioned earlier in the thread, there was enough junk in the chute to make it not very chargeable, plus it hasn't been cold enough for true corn to develop. Either way, it was a fun adventure. I'm definitely glad I had the axe and crampons, there were a few sections that would have been sketchy without them. Thanks for all the tips earlier this week!

Fuck ya dshack and mallwalker! Good job both of ya!
I'm calling it, It's officially summer ski season! Snowpack has settled nicely and I was stoked to find supportable snow despite my late start today (1030am). Get it while the corns hot cause the snow ain't gonna last long this year, but damn if this ain't the best corn ski-son I've ever seen in Utah.
Also, how bout them jazz?!

Great skiing today up at alta... The cooler temps, clouds and slight wind kept the snow supportable and ripping till we left around 130. Was key to play the compass as west faces were bulletproof most the day that we were up there. "This is like skiing on glass" is what my buddy's 6 year old told me when the aspect would change in the trees we were skiing
Probably my last in bounds day of the year but we'll see

took a couple laps up grizz after work, hope some of you guys made it out today... these kinda storms this time of year are my favorite thing in the world. hooting and laughing laps
obviously the sun was wreaking havoc nearly instantly, the exit lower down was heavy on the way out around 6:45 or so. tomorrow morning might be good if you catch it before the sun ruins it all. the higher the better. and more snow coming! god I love living here

I think that might have been you that caught us up on top of black bess? We are moving slow turtle pace in the skinner and my buddy says hurry theres a rando dude coming up quick lol.
Spectacular afternoon. Broke trail at 4pm in one of busiest zones in the warsnatch. Empty. Sun was in out then in hard around 7pm. 6 to 8 inches of creamy fluff on top on edgeable smooth consolidated base. A couple point releases on steep rolls, a lil bit of wind effect up high, some sluffs that were fun to race but really no instabilities noted. Heavy down low. Skied to the car. This morning early should be great on high north face.

Yesterday afternoon was fun.
Mallwalker is spot on that as soon as the sun touched the snow it had an instant effect on it.
Hopefully some of ya were out there early this morning getting the goods!

Big opportunity here! I've got a couple snowbird 'friends and family' passes with 2 or 3 days on each. I'd like To get $40/day for them, would confirm exact number at ticket booth. I can meet up there with almost no notice. PM me if interested and we can take it from there.

Crack o nooner. Raining to sb entry 1, sleet to alta and graupel from there. Felt like the sun had its way with mondays goodness with a couple inches of springy damp pow on that. Toured up catherines/rockies. Still damn good turns all things considered

SL Tribune this morning, Cottonwood Canyons given $60 of the $100 million in available transportation funds. Sounds like parking garage(s) might be at the top of the list.

my kids soccer schedule is really messing with my spring turns…
yes. 4" of dense and light winds from the se at this am. that rain's been doing some lower elevation damage since thur night for sure. sticky on the up, steeper skiing skied better than expected, lower elevation skied worse. started at 6, out before 9. made some turns thursday in the cirque, pretty fun before the rain. been ripping spring turns the last few sundays at the bird and messing around at brighton and solitude during the week. hoping for a strong finish, closing out the bird tomorrow...
the kids soccer is just out of hand. the 11-year old's club, liverpool entered the state cup, won 5 in a row to make the final and lost 4-2 to forza. wedged this into the last month of the season. 11 games in last 18 days and that's just one kid. sorry to say but can't wait for it to be over. system overload.
looking forward to start touring the bird monday
