Good one. Also the Last Dollar (like scottyb sed), and I like the New Sheridan bar - great martinis.

I'm not going to post pics because I'm on mobile, but some to check out in AK where I've had good times: the Chicken Creek Saloon in Chicken, the Howling Dog and the Boatel in Fairbanks, the Officer's Club on Ft. Wainwright (okay, you probably can't go there), McGuire's in McGrath, and the Alaska Bush Company in Anchorage. RIP the Bird House (Anchorage) and Fairview Inn (Talkeetna).

He's getting wood to stoke the fire, a requirement of his sponsorship.

My favorite bar of all time is the Buckaroo Tavern in Seattle, but I think it's gone now.

Salty Dog Saloon in Homer, AK. No pics as it was a while back. First and only dirt / saw dust floor bar I’ve ever been in.

Bar le savoy, Argentiere. I would guess that many an epic mountaineering journey was planned at 2 AM while passing around “un grolle” and a side-flask of genepy.

Also destroyed and hits even closer to home is The WIlly T.

Basil's in Mustique is a classic.

Closer to home, you can't get any better than Mr. C's. Not even close.

And of course, the world famous Clermont Lounge.

It's tradition that the sign changes almost daily. Luckily the barkeep in charge over the years has been on a hit streak like you wouldn't believe. Hilarious shit.

Yup, they will rebuild it hopefully though. Both those places are shacks on the beach, so not really surprising they are gone.

Here’s another classic one, the wreck bar in Fort Lauderdale.

This one comes with the added bonus of being able to watch the ladies swimming in the pool

I used to live down the street from the famous Tune Inn in DC, they opened at 8:00 and the fellas would be lined up half an hour early, standing there shaking.

    The Gem in Toronto
Small place, big selection of micro brews and down to earth people.
If you're in TO and want to check a true local bar without the pretence this place rocks.

    Also

If you go to Aruba check out Zeerovers
great local place with cheap alcohol prices and a water front setup that let's you see some incredible sunsets. Some of the best deep fried shrimp I have ever tasted.
