Yep planning ahead is key, luckily a drift boat is light enough you can unhook and move it around by hand if you have to.

Is that legal? I saw a guy with 2 jet skis behind his trailer last summer and thought it looked really sketchy. Tons of movement

Varies by state as to total length.......
What we have here is an intelligence failure. You may be familiar with staring directly at that when shaving. .

Exactly, My set up is pretty short, I have seen some LONG ass doubles. It is legal in every state I care to visit with the above set up. Balancing tongue weights is key to an uneventful trip.

Some states require the first trailer to be a 5th wheel hitch as well. Not that I think some monstrosity of a 5'er towing a boat behind it is safer than telee's setup.

Makes sense. Your setup is much shorter then the one I saw on the thruway. I imagine your boat is lighter then the two jet skis also

Some years ago I saw a diesel hauler RV pulling a ski boat, pulling an Excursion. This was in town on surface streets. Wish I’d taken a picture.

One of my technicians used to pull his enclosed four wheeler trailer behind his fifth wheel, used to. He was coming home from camping one time with a side by side and a four wheeler in the enclosed and the whipsaw started. The rear trailer swaying pushed his one ton towing it all off the road. Totaled out the fifth wheel and enclosed trailer, the one ton was fixable.

Lumpy tows his drifty behind his fifth wheel with no issues. You just don’t want anything real heavy as that back trailer.

Like I said balancing tongue weights is key. Pulling the train when it gets the sways is not a great feeling. I figured that shit out quick.

We like to call that the Idaho Triple. Very common around these parts.

How many people would it take to lift one of them? They almost look like you could nest one on top of the other on a single trailer.

That would be quite a pain in the ass. They are heavier than they look.

Yea as dfinn said they are heavier than they look and you would break all kinds of shit. Lots of hard unforgiving parts. A raft on the other hand is completely doable. 2 guys can do this.

Pro tip. - put boat anchors in the front of the drift boat. Get some weight on that tongue.

Bumping this up. Could buy a June build spot off the GFC forums. I would need an XL for my 2012 Tundra double cab. I will need to go back and re-read this whole thread. Would love to hear of any current owners experiences winter camping. I live right down the road from the factory. Been lusting after these since I first saw one on the road 4 years ago.
