I too grew up ripping the midwest ice at Wilmot, chestnut, Tyrol and Alpine valley. Falling on ice will have you learning real quick

pretty even rotation between Norwich, Bolton valley and Sugarbush
Norwich when they wanted to drop us off and leave us by ourselves
Bolton for night skiing (also a frequent drop off/ lift babysitting) and sugarbush for when my dad could also skiskid luxury

My first day skiing ever was about 1977 at Grand Targhee and it was pouring rain. But pretty much learned at Kelly Canyon for free thanks to Idaho public schools.
Hunting kicks ass.

Backyard first, then stepped it up to the big mountain...all 370 vertical feet of it.
Master of mediocrity.

Mt. Brighton, MI. What a POS place, but a fun POS at 7 years old.
