The stem cell scams.

Anyone have a positive experience with stem cell treatment?
Friend of mine shelled out for injections in his knees earlier this year. Didn't make a noticeable difference, he said, but only cost him 5 grand.Know of a pair of Fischer Ranger 107Ti 189s (new or used) for sale? PM me.

If you're up on the science it doesn't sound like stem cells offer up much healing for arthritis or bone regeneration. Sorry your friend didn't do research.

I'm half joking btw. There are plenty of studies done and still being done on stem cells. Seems to work for lots of things, and not so much for others

Stem cells might work and they might not. That's all anyone can conclusively say at this point. I rate the experience neutral.

Yeah I recalled that Splat had a thread, but I was not aware of the proliferation of applications being experimented with eg directly injecting into eyes.

Stem cells saved my knee and shoulder, as well my hip that was wearing out from the hitch in my gimp.

I'm not that surprised about the mixed results - after all we're barely passed the black box stage. There was some recent, very positive data on spinal chord improvement but need to fumble around for bit to find it.

I had PRP in the right knee to help an old ACL repair. Definitely did me good.
I have heard it may be 6 months or more till you notice an improvement. YMMVwatch out for snakes

See, now, anything that takes longer than 15 day to start showing results is just a little out there.

Took 110 days for mine to kick in. And when it did, it was incredible. I'm going back for more.

Yes, fuck ALS. I hope your friend can beat the odds.
In time the science will become dialed. They just don't understand enough about what determines if a stem cell will grow a tumor or grow beneficial tissue when introduced into a part of your body.
Splat, have you had an mri to see what kind of regeneration has occurred with your meniscus?

They don't grind up babies for stem cells any more. They harvest your ear lobes then pull out all your finger and toe nails to make a jelly that they rub on yer chestiular regions.

Sorta. But stem cells harvested from older patient ain't as viable as those from younger ones, so one's rejuvenatorial efficacy may vary from hoped for/expected outcomes depending on age.
