It does have red bits on it thought....
Plus everyyyyyyyone who reads wildsnow knows that white is faster on the uphill since snow doesn't stick to it since it heats up less.
With all of Hoji's modding efforts I wonder how he gets all his random parts. Is it just that he's tight with all the shops that dispose of boots or does he just hoard part bins everywhere? Either way I'm jealous.TLDR; Ski faster. Quit breathing. Don't crash.

my ski bud hated his white Maestrale RS because he claimed it made him look like a calgary stampeders cheer leader so I suggested that he get some colored felt pens and the boot could be a blank canvass for his toddler grandchildren ... they made some really cool designs !

Looks like it's 100 pintech only. No way that's holding into an Alpine binding. There's no place to hold to toe.
Cool looking boot.

Oh cool looks like it comes with the typical garbage fodder dynafits liners.
But Ellen kicks ass - if she had a beard it would be much more haggard. -Jer

Huh. Looks pretty good. Weird to see a ski boot with a smooth toe.
Buckle arrangement looks solid... what's with the dangly catch piece on the top buckle? Prob will make more sense when the rest of the boot can be seen. Proper power strap.
Crampons appear cheesy upon first look.

No, the orange cable anchor for the top buckle... looks like the cable loop seats on a small black sheetmetal catch that floats with the orange cable embedded in the spine.

Also note, looks like the beast heel fitting is built in.

nice lookin' boot...but where's the adjustable forward flex a la the g.o.a.t. ski boot solly sx series? Interesting similarities in the rear closure system. Checked out the intimate details in the Hoji patent, obviously totally different but cool to see the old tech coming back in a new form/purpose.

So, the big thing is easier transitions? And if the last is as wide as WS says, isn’t it REALLY similar to the new Maestrale?

Nice photos on wildsnow...
Ah, the buckle also tensions the power strap via the orange cable in the z-track. Clever
The lock mechanism is burly.

so forward lean is set with that lean lock
"when you kick down the lever, you will enjoy a ‘loaded’ tension fit between the latch and interior cuff stops. Super solid "
I wonder if there is any adjustment for the stiffness or how that ^^ mech all pulls everything togetehr?
SO is this an "overlap style boot" or a "cabrio style boot"Lee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

There's a barrel adjuster to keep the preload tension of the system tight, Al. Can't see any adjustability of the flex per say, but for guys like me who like a bit of fore aft 'play' in dh mode for skiing certain specific pow conditions, you could maybe back off the barrel adjuster of the hoji lock?
Maybe one mod a guy could do is tweak the forward lean by shaving the scaffo flex stop plastic and cranking up the hoji lock tensioner to add more lean, and do the reverse by adding material to the scaffo flex stop with like jb weld plastic bond or something and shaving/grinding it to perfect shape for exact mating surfaces of the two components, then back off the barrel adjuster for preload to accomodate the extra material?
cabrio/overlap = cabrioverlap?Master of mediocrity.

yeah it looks Cabrio but in amongst all that tech how much stiffness is coming from the tongue, I guess the cuff stops are the big thing here just like they were in the Vulcan actualy
It will be nice not to fiddle with a tongue or a pwrstrap
Lots of folks never use the Vulcan tongue and I took my power strap off
Like it or not this boot will be measured against the vulcan
edit : they are claiming progressive forward flex
it look like you adj forward lean with a 10mm wrench on that lean lock and there is tension between the cuff stops/leanlock but then what happens to cable adj on the cuff stop?Lee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

Looks like a vulcan without a toe step and with a fancy lock mechanism that may or may not be super reliable.
I don't see anything here to make me choose this over the hawx, I don't race and already transition faster than many of my partners. Tried to buy boots on saturday, tried on zero G, mtn lab, new mastrale RS, and the hawx (alpine version and wrong size xtd) and think the hawx is the best option for me when they get my size back in stock.
