DEJA VUE?
Hmmn...uh oh...echoes of last season's storm days...
* Mt. Rose will be closed tomorrow, November 16th due to expected blizzard conditions *
...and they closed early today, at one.
Doesn't seem that bad down here in CC. It is windy though.

You'll get used to it, Turx. Carson is drier than a popcorn fart.
QPF for crest raised to 7-8" with 70% chance of somewhere getting 10+" !
Come on cold front!

Yesterday @ around 9,000ft on the south shore I saw everything from snow to snain to groppel to big fat flakes to freezing rain. Looks like around 8 inches at 8,500 between 8pm-3am. Lost power to the weather station then, but was coming down about an inch/hr and can't imagine why it would be any different given the radar.

Wow!! Look at the difference between the Kirkwood cam and Heavenly's dipper cam. Heavenly's cam is about 800' higher but there is no snow anywhere in the trees at Kirkwood.

I was thinking kw was looking good considering. Snain more than rain at least. Puddles by the base of 5/6 are not good signs though.
But based on the Heave cam, we can assume just a little up the slope is different. Can see trees past 200' vert on that cam right now.

Anyone down for a tour of North Lake tomorrow because I need partner.
I was thinking Castle Peak or Andesite if conditions permit. I am a bit out of shape, just looking for a chill tour to get out on the snow and get my touring legs back. I am AAIRE Level 1 certified, have been back country skiing for the last 5 years but mostly do guided trips. I am conservative when it comes to safety and will ski my skin track if instabilities exist. PM me if you are interested.

16" of wet-ass snow at ~7,500' this morning. It's been raining since daybreak. The snow level was over 8,500' at about 8 p.m. last night. So I doubt there's much, if any, facet layer left.
