This morning was uninspiring with only an inch in kings beach plus maybe 5 on SB tables.
Still went up rose and found nice cold snow on dogshit lake peak. 8" generally so still hitting bottom and plenty of snow snakes but hey, not a bad first day.
Fresh cold snow and bluebird deserves a fresh cold beer. Here's to now.Even sometimes when I'm snowboarding I'm like "Hey I'm snowboarding! Because I suck dick, I'm snowboarding!" --Dan Savage

¿¿Where the what now??
Is that like above and to the right of Around the World on the frontside?
Still finding our way around.
Explored frontside trees today, around Sunset.
Skis bear the scars...but was worth it.
Seemed a bit deeper and lighter on Main side.
"Stiff" pow on Winter Creek side by time we arrived.
It is hella firm underneath.
It is *trying* to snow now.

Kirkwood was excellent today. That 6-8” did well bonding to the layer below in most spots. Sentinel to start and did not feel bottom. Broke trail to Pali for Patrol so they could flip the signs. A few off 10 and then 10th chair on 4. Super fun show. I’d share pics, but it was too good.

Snow in protected areas was quite good today. Anything exposed to the wind was scratch.

Wow...Reno's forecast updates have been crazy tonight...
Ok, this is getting intense, as in very heavy snowfall rates in
places. In all seriousness, very heavy snow is falling in bands
southeast of Lake Tahoe into Douglas, Alpine and southwest Lyon
Counties. Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are common,
with insane rates of 4 to 5 inches per hour being observed at the
Heavenly Ski Area (off their snow stake cam).
This is all occurring in a small area of deformation in the
northeast quad of the upper low. This will not last long (the next
2-4 hours), but it is already doing much more than we anticipated.
Will be issuing another update to better focus on these areas and
make it more widespread. Expect 1 to 4 inches in this band with
locally higher amounts. A foot or more is possible southeast of
the lake where there is considerable lake enhancement of that
band. In fact, Heavenly has already picked up close to 6 inches in
the past 100 minutes!

It was lake effect dumping like I havnt seen in awhile. We tried to go to rr earth show last night but singer has flu so they cancelled show. The drive back home was epic clusterfuck w people unable to negotiate any hills on tramway and the cops just sending em to boulder lot. They are gone now so the tow truck driver musta had a busy night. The cloud is still parked atop heave above 8.5k so not sure if still snowing up there. All aboard the train to blow town!!!!
