And based on KW vs Heave cams, it looks like it was quite a bit warmer over by CP

Yeah... 15 cars this AM at Tamarack (we had an under/over going).
Especially after reading this: "Three people ( I believe) were caught in it, two of which were slammed into trees/rocks but were ok. Another skier with a possible broken ankle. A couple lost skis as well. " from Hourglass yesterday. We chose elsewhere and had a grand ol mellow morning.

Fucking amazing.
I skied there once last year. Walked right on to the Gondi five minutes after opening. Coverage almost to town mid April.
Why everyone gets so pumped for a WROD they are willing to wait in multiple lines to even get that first run. Unbelievable. Hope they have fun.
Still being in a cast, I'm stoked on this storm. Could have cooled a bit to lay some perma base down to 7k, but it looks like the upper half of KW got nicely caked. That shit will stick. I'm not skiing until at least after Christmas, so I don't need good conditions just yet.
Hope we dodge the rain Monday.
And, hey, dooks, dumping can refer to both frozen and liquid precip. "Dumping bullets" refers to rainfall. The heavy kind with large drops. Almost hurts. So, no, no snow in SC. Not yesterday. Tho I've seen it three times in two decades. Once we got three inches.

Sweet. Welcome to the neighborhood. I'm off of Thompson which is just downhill and across the street from the fire station on the way up MRH. I know of at least one other frequent poster on this thread that lives nearby also. I ski Rose as often as possible, so if you ski there also give me a shout sometime and we'll take some runs.
Took this at noon today as the clouds were lifting over Rose. Looking alot better than a few days ago. My kid has Falcons Team tomorrow so we will be up there, along with half of Reno I expect.

Squaw was good today. Minus the late opening and the only lift breaking down.

And to think just a short skin away was money. Not one single person. Almost never see that with low hanging fruit and early season stoke high and everybody running around everywhere. Low tide spots were rippin. Tombstones were caked. Send it off the boulders. #masterplaster. Grumbled about high snow levels but think we might just be realizing what this base shot means for all access alpine lines for the season. Game set. BTW morning clouds sure helped keep sun out and gettin fukkin cold tonight. Lock yourselves for the morrow. Game on. Everywhere. Again

Dude. Ask your kid why. He'll set you straight
Yeah, it was alright.
Only got yelled at once by a 'troller, "...get out of there."
Still a big line fir the lift when we first showed, but it did thin out.
Hoarfrost on the trees up top was cool.
Prolly gonna pass on Rose tomorrow, but might hit it on Sunday.

TAHOE: LAND OF THE SNOWFLAKES -- 17/18 STOKE
Squaw was fun today for what it was. Didnt get out until 1ish, so I missed those lift problems luckily.
Barely a lift line whatsoever, I think the longest I waited was 3 minutes. Most of the day there was no line at all, just ski onto the lift in the singles line.
Right under the lift, I got little taste of my off piste medicine. I was lapping that all day. It was fun.
I’ll be there everyday for the next week or so..

^^^yup
Turx, of course if I had a working ankle I would be out tomorrow some where with my kid. Or without him. Though I'd probably hike some where. I used to love getting that early season suffer fest in. Seems like travel above 8200' would be pretty reasonable now for a skin.
Did they have off piste open, or the early season closures? Curious, as the photos I saw of the Kw ridge line look nicely filled in.
Have fun out there folks and be careful. Still plenty of early season hazards.

So... Mammoth got 6 feet up top. Might be worth the drive for those on the South / East side. Got my first taste of FOMO on Facebook this morning with some friends' pics from down that way.
What was open at Squaw? I heard they had to evacuate people on Gold Coast yesterday.
