Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle

I enjoyed that movie. Not saying it was a classic or anything, but it was more amusing than most of what passed for comedy films that year and I could relate to the characters' competing needs for recreation and professional advancement.

I am concerned, however, that newcomers to our sports could come to the PR, read the threads, and conclude that indeed the lovers of gravity sports have far too much in common with the caricatured "extreme" sports punks portrayed in that film.

Let's try to ramp up the level of discourse here, folks. The world is full of SMART skiers, boarders, bikers, surfers, etc. Let's try to pretend this group is among them.

The whole schtick in the second movie about ken mars parents being North Korean was outstanding.

    I think we’ve found the slogan for this year’s BBI17 t-shirts.

Someone tell Timberridge he can stop working on it.

But to Jimmy’s initial post: who in their right mind, who spends all of 10 minutes in the PR, could ever think this place is full of a bunch of bro-brah extreme types?

I mean the average age here is AARP.

I’m just glad to be in that sweet spot dirty 30s where I can still ski how I want to but I can also yell at the kids to get off my lawn.

You should check out new schoolers for a good example of bro brah.

I really wish White Castle would open a shop here. I love those damn things and the frozen one from the Supermarket don't cut it.

    Get on that willya.

This thread should be in the dictionary to define pseudointellectualism.

I suppose you were trying to seem smart by tying Harold and Kumar to the level of discourse in the PR. It just came off as weak sauce and trying too hard.

I'm gonna have to disagree. "Smart" was definitely not what was on my mind when making a Harold & Kumar reference. In fact, I'm a little concerned that you immediately went from Harol & Kumar to accusing someone of trying to be "smart." Do you truly not see a problem there?

    Wrong forum.

I do like this film and have watched it several times over the years. Still found it amusing last winter. However, Up In Smoke was on this weekend and I couldn't take more than 15 minutes. And I loved that film in the 80's.

Heresy. Still hands down my favorite movie. Of. All. Time. 40 years later. Note to self, 8 year olds should probably not be allowed to see stuff like this in the theater with a bunch of hippies.

Post 12 and vt wins with first statement.....

H&K flicks are stoner movies and I enjoy the genre, they carry the torch (literally) from C&C. Waiting for the next gen to step it up and I will watch in interest.

    Wait.....what?

    Edit: still fall......
